Diacetyl in Liquids makes BBC news

Wow what is the problem with vaping i seriously dont understand how they constantly attack it yet there are much worse 'proven' things around that dont ever get a mention because they are used by the majority of people only been vaping a short time and already im sick of hearing all this crap lol i made the switch from smoking to vaping and generally feel better all round for it (except for the flu which this awesome UK weather has provided me with)

This is starting to affect me now. The Mrs is telling me not to use it in the living room, I'm refusing to comply based on the stuff I've read, which is a lot, so it's causing arguments.

Her brother is agreeing with the Mrs because of what he's seen on the news but I know exactly what's in my diy liquid.

Edit: For any new vapers reading this, Diacteyl is found in some custard, cream, desert type liquids. Some flavour concentrate manufacturers sell these Diacteyl free (Capella v2 comes to mind), and most of the best, trusted eliquid manufacturers eliquid will be diacteyl free too. If you're unsure they'll be happy to put you straight if you email them.

Would say it's more prevalent than that based on the Dr Farsalinos report.

I have to agree that this is a silly mistake to put this ingredient in as its not for inhaling. I think liquid vendors should be regulated.

What I can't understand here, taking this at face value and this is a vendor bought juice, i.e that a man has possibly died from eliquid containing diacetyl,- why arent there more? I would expect to see more deaths (god forbid) or an increase in the diagnosis of pulmonary obliterans in that area, similar to the water pump and cholera in Victorian times.

Something just isn't sitting right with me..

To be honest people are usually treated and make a recovery from what killed this bloke. Again its just thrown right at the end of the article with very little here say comments with limited to no information. Another Well rounded BBC article :/

Are you not mixing this up with lipoid pneumonia?
2 different things. -Pulmonary obliterans is chronic and non reversible. If there is a real risk going on here, we should be able to see an increase, or at least in an area surrounding a particular vendor...

I'm pissed with reading this shit. It's getting old hat. Best we go back to stinkies eh. For fuck sake.
