At least in the USa posting Liquid Diacteyl free don't mean crap unless its tested in an independent lab. Maybe their supplier said it was Diacteyl free and its not. About a year ago the big flavor concentrate suppliers stated replacing diacteyl with 2 other compounds that when combined and vaper produce-wait-diacteyl!
AEMSA | American E-Liquid Manufacturing Standards Association AEMSA is a E -Liquid Manufacturers Trade Organization that sets Manufacturing Standard that member must comply to. 1 of the standard is not using any of those compounds and have independent Lab Tests confirming.
But as I pointed out in my earlier post e-liquid manufacturers typically don't know what is in their e-liquids because they use third-party concentrates. Typically those third-parties are producing concentrates for the food industry and diacetyl is safe when eaten. Just because the e-liquid manufacturers don't put diacetyl in there doesn't mean it isn't in there.
Typically testing is either not done or is said to be in process. Well at least they have it on the agenda. For example:
Booberry Creamed Pie** This product has not yet been tested for acetyl propionyl. We will be testing all of our flavors over the next 3-6 months and will post the results on our website.
