Diacetyl in Liquids makes BBC news

:D
I'm not actually a scouser though, - I'm known locally as a wooly back as I live in St. Helens

It gets me why they call us wooly backs. lol. Cheeky fookers. I'm a Manc. You're sort of between the two. No mans land as they say.

Ahh right, - didn't realise you were so close.
St.Helens, no mans land? -that's probably a fair description,
I can't stand the place, even though I was born here :(
I often find myself in Liverpool or Manchester for nights out etc... Love both of them etc...

I'm very disappointed with that BBC article. What started off as excellent news information regarding the dangers of Diacetyl, when inhaled, could have remained as admirably positive which should have been used for the benefit of the vaping community and promote awareness to take interest in what you are buying and that products ingredients.
Instead, the article drifted into scare mongery waffle and became just an insignificant generalisation.
BBC missed an opportunity to promote a health issue to an audience of 100% and applicable to those for and those against.

The Beeb aren't interested in education, just hit counts. The problem isn't the slant of their coverage it's the juice manufacturer & vendor who have given them the opportunity to do a piece in the first place.

The way it read to me is that vendor has stopped using dicetyl based ingredients, but not done a product recall simply allowed the product to sell through, which tbh is what I think most of the vendors have done. It would appear that this particular outlet has some very well steeped stock.

I read this earlier on FB. Lazy crap journalism, that spiced up the story by including the death of 1 man and included the unproven link that lipid pneumonia was caused by vaping, yet missed the"how many deaths since 2011 from smoking" which IS fucking proven.

My Jackass style of presenting means I don't watch his program, the Dr that insists on backing up the poor widow is also an ANTZ(according to something KMS posted awhile back)

This is starting to affect me now. The Mrs is telling me not to use it in the living room, I'm refusing to comply based on the stuff I've read, which is a lot, so it's causing arguments.

Her brother is agreeing with the Mrs because of what he's seen on the news but I know exactly what's in my diy liquid.

Edit: For any new vapers reading this, Diacteyl is found in some custard, cream, desert type liquids. Some flavour concentrate manufacturers sell these Diacteyl free (Capella v2 comes to mind), and most of the best, trusted eliquid manufacturers eliquid will be diacteyl free too. If you're unsure they'll be happy to put you straight if you email them.
Most websites I have seen post "diacteyl free" if applicable. I wish they would all be so aware and create alternatives.

the truth of whats in e-cigarettes? what? all of them? every single one? isnt that like saying 'the truth of whats in cigarette paper'? like legitimate tobacco, or duty free hooky cigs, or weed or whatever. Surely it should be 'the truth of what was in this particular e liquid' and not a generalisation. I have genuinely stopped reading this shit these days. So even if every manufacturer started to add cyanide and arsenic to the mix at a rate of 45 percent cyanide, 45 percent arsenic 10 percent eliquid, I as a user would no longer see it had happened unless i saw it here. The press are alienating the people they purport to be defending with this shit

FFS!
