Diluting VG

I have heard different theories as to why you should use distilled water or de-ionised water, that can not all be right.
For sure tap water has fluoride in it and perhaps other things. Is this dangerous? Who knows? Not me.
I read here not so long ago someone who has been using it for years but have no idea if they have died yet.
Some people use freezer frost.
Some use vodka.
I use whiskey which may or may not be a bad idea.
As with steeping,it is in my opinion another of the many areas of vaping where there is much voodoo.
If you use enough pg with your vg you should not need further diluting.
I await a proper scientific answer to this question.

But I don't think PG and water (or whisky or vodka etc) are the comparables here. Cause isn't the idea of the water to be to dilute the VG down so that is a manageable viscosity for needles and mixing equipment, and then it is mixed with the PG. So the PG and water etc play different roles here. The mix of PG and VG to create the "perfect" vapur and taste is a seperate discussion isn't it?

Not in my world.
I am only interested in the final thickness of the finished fluid.
Stage one of the Hippydude method of mixing is to make a mix of 80/20 vg/pg
My method does not work for those that believe it is essential to control the exact percentage of all elements in the final mix.My nic levels and flavour percentages in the final mix are exact, my pg/vg ratio not.

Fair enough!

Ok not very technical but for boots VG I TAKE 20ml OUT a new bottle then put in 10 ml of distiller water , 10ml of saline and 5 ml of vodka and give it a good shake , job done lol

Distilled water rather than tap water due to the bacteria that it contains. Your stomach being very acidic kills the bacteria when you drink the tap water, your lungs however do not have this ability and are the perfect breeding ground. This is the danger with legionnaires disease entering the lungs in the form of aerosolized water from say a shower that hasn't been used for a long time.

Saline can reduce certain bacteria numbers and is used in nebulisers to improve lung function. it can also be used safely to dilute other liquids for nebuliser inhalation.

Yeah , non technical bit again - I find it also brings out the flavour a bit more on certain mixes :) lol

Well that's not good. Not looking good for me!
