I have a idea to build a simple stand for building on.

The stand is going to be made from wood and will have
maybe two 510/ego adapters set into it for building on as
I currently build on my kitchen table and it's a complete faff.

What else would be a useful addition?

Tweezer slot? Holder for wire? Juice bottle section?

Any other ideas welcome, or if you have pics of your own diy
attempts it would be nice to see what others have done.

I build on a plastic tub which i have cut threads in the bottom off to screw attys on. The tub holds all the basics i'll nees x1 roll of 26g, x2 pairs of tweezers ×2 screw drivers (2.5 + 3mm) ×1pair of nail clippers ×1 pair stubby scissors. And a little baggy of muji

Small enough to chuck in me pocket if going away for the weekend.

My "proper" kit is an old biscuit tin with about 10 rolls of wire, old attys for test builds, ohms readers - the whole shebang. Can pack it away in about 30 seconds. Should really fix a 510 in the lid.

I too use the kitchen/coffee table.if i'm doing fancier coils theres vices/clamps/drills etc and it does become a faff then.

If i had a dedicated vape space/ledger/desk i'd def set up something permanent.

Think the magnets is a great idea.

I'd love to be able to build, test the ohms/safety and dry fire/work out hot spots all on the same 510. Yes can build on a mod but for me thats not the way to do it.

Oh, paper towel dispenser. Gotta be a good thing.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Here's one I knocked up made a wee while back with a couple of oak floor offcuts from B&Q...

Holes range in size from 3mm (screwdrivers, tweezers, syringes etc), 10mm or 11mm (can't remember which for drip tips), 16mm (small atty's, batteries), 22mm (atty's, mods), 25mm (mods and juice bottles). All the atty/battery holes are drilled roughly 10mm into the second bit so they sit flat on the base when the atty is in the hole.

The box mods and 26650 mod sit next to the stand - don't have them when I made or I might have tried to incorporate something into it for them and it was a worthy like exercise to build.

...and the swear pot gets emptied once a year and helps pay for new toys.

Gerry, great idea with the magnets.

Wooky, that's a bit too much for me, my idea was a simple
build stand.

I have a roughly cut piece of wood that currently stands at
16.5cm tall and seems like a comfortable height to work at.

Can't decide on one or two 510/ego adapters though?

Oh, and I am working with basic tools, pretty
much a hand saw and a drill ;)

Kill 2 birds with one stone ......

You should have a ohms meter if your rebuilding

Go to Maplins and get a ABS enclosure
Remove the electronics from the ohms meter and install them in the ABS enclosure
Instead of using an 510/ego adapter use a FDV 510 connector ... much more robust

Never did like using those dodgy 510 connectors commonly found on ohmsmeters
