I Vape at 10w and sometimes get dry no fire hits. If I turn the w up to 20w it clears it. I then turn it back down to 10w and its ok. Dont know why, seems to work tho. Took me ages to try this, getting old I guess.

Ah yes its an Innokin Zlide tank - 1.6 coils and the juice is 50/50 PG VG.
I also found letting it stand resting for 5 or 10 minutes cured it.

A new coil should be given 5-10 minutes before vaping. The 1.6 Z coil is rated 10-14w so it may not take kindly to 20w.

As said always give new coil time to soak and possibly just a little pin through the wick holes to loosen cotton can help wick better x

are you priming the coil first?
drip some juice on all the cotton around the coil then start very low. as your using 10watts start at 5w and take short puffs. you most prob wont get any cloud or flavour but the coil is still bedding in and heating up. turn up a watt every couple of puffs till you reach your 10watts and see if that helps.

some coils the cotton is very compacted so the pin idea is a good one. dont push in too hard as it would bend the wire inside. on higher watt coils i scratch at the cotton to losen it a bit which seems to work for my 50w coils.

Well all I can say so far is that ten days ago I pierced the wick holes with a paperclip, of a new coil before inserting and as well as being a fresher vape
I have not expirienced any dry/no fire hits. This could just be good luck with a good coil.
Good result though. I useually change coils after only five days
So its a good result so far.
As for priming I useually leave a new coil for ten minutes after fitting.

Paperclip trick did not work on second coil fitted. Turning watts up to 20 or even 15 few hits then back down to prefered 10 watts does clear it.
