Dual coil sub ohming

Took it to pieces gave it a thorough clean, not as warm but still reasonably so. :/

Are you sure it's battery and not mod?
Resistance in telescopic sections will make it warm

More likely its the shit spring in the switch. Get a good thick brass one in there. My set up, exactly the same needed some tinkering but its been at .2ohm for months and the only thing that gets hot is the trident. I have modded the contacts and tail spring though to cope.
