So is paracetamol, in fact you would not believe how many EU citizens have died from just accidental paracetamol ODs. Then there is the deliberate ones made by suicidal teens with no knowledge of how drug work, that land up in hospital beds, bright yellow, dying slowly over about two weeks from liver failure, which is one of the most agonizing deaths imaginable. Even if it was just a cry for help. Yet you can buy this highly toxic drug from as little 16p, go to another pharmacy and buy another, then go to another and buy another, proving sale limits do jack squat also. Every parent who has a paracetamol product in their home has something in their home capable of killing their children. Where is the EU ban squad on this?
Also, I am an ex codeine addict, but I didn't get addicted to street drugs, I got addicted to Big Pharma's Nurofen Plus and Solpadine. I am now on subutex to stabilize and so I do not die from the added ibuprofen and paracetamol in the OTC pills I was using to feed my codeine addiction. Vaping is also helping me stay on the program, because I vape in the place where I would usually take a tablet. Subutex is one dose in the morning and that's it, so vaping is the much safer vice that carries me through the day. I have also stopped smoking roll ups since I started vaping and my asthma is no longer putting me in hospital on nebulizers. I only smoked baccy for a few months, but I now vape instead and I actually enjoy it. I hated roll ups but didn't want to do without my nicotine, so vaping was the best option for me. Patches irritated my eczema prone skin, the nasty inhalator has to be shoved at your gums because it wasn't absorbed through the lungs, and the gum made me almost puke, so vaping all the way for me, and I will blow my non toxic vape into the faces of every MEP who opposes MY free choice
In the mean time I wouldn't mind the EU taking a look into this OTC codeine issue, and the paracetamol deaths issue, and I would welcome tough restrictions on the sales of both these meds, one is highly addictive, the other can kill very easily and even accidentally. Paracetamol can kill through a 'drawn out' OD too, where the patient ODs by taking even slightly too much daily, and it builds up and kills them.
I am lucky my OTC codeine issue didn't kill me due to the high doses of ibuprofen I was taking daily. Even ibuprofen can kill, it destroys your renal system (kidneys for non medically aware noobs).
EU please help stop the rising tide of codeine addiction in many of your countries, and leave my non killer ecigs out of it!!!!!
A box of paracetamol in the hands of a minor is a million times more dangerous than an ecig or ejuice with a childproof cap.
