E Cig Legislation - Chris Davies Email - Clearing the confusion

maybe im at a loss or getting numbers mixed up but isnt 20mg/ml higher than what we currently see as standrad quantities of 6mg, 12 , mg, 18 mg? ( i know some e juices are 5,10,15 but for the most they are in the 6 x range. so yes we lose the higher 24mg ( which is on a par with around 30 cigs a day? ) or is this more to do with quantities when making the stuff prior to adding flavour and the like? as someone who just buys liquids ready made off the peg so to speak i dont know how this affects vendors of juices maybe someone could explain better in comparison to our current ratios based on say a 10ml bottle, that normally comes in a choice of 6,12,18 or 24 strength nic

It's a breathing(vaping?) space as far as I'm concerned as a vaper. I can probably deal with 20mg strength, well I will have to, and as someone else said, unless there's going to be 'Vape Police' measuring the capacity of our tanks then we'll have anything over 2ml at home to use, it'll mean we won't be able to buy anything over 2ml capacity is all, but I'm sure there's more than a few handy vapers that can machine whatever they can imagine. ;) I only order 30/50/100ml bottles, it's usually the cheapest way and I can just buy a lot more of the flavours I like in one go, but I have been sent 3x10ml bottles from one site I tried a while back. It'll be a pain in the arse having tons of 10ml bottles lying around, I already have enough from when I see a flavour in a shop and buy it to try it. That's my POV as a punter, and I have to say I'm relieved, for now.

The real problem will be for the producers and home mixers, this could have the potential to put a lot of people out of business, if they make it impossible for the small producers to obtain the base nicotine then who will be producing our eliquid? Big companies who can get the licences obviously, so this is a huge blow for independent manufacturers and those of us who've come to love a certain flavour from a certain maker, down the line this could lead us quickly into the situation we all wanted to avoid, big business having control of our vaping experience. And as a disclaimer; If I read that part right? :/

If there is going to be a limit on the nicotine, where does this leave businesses that make eliquid in the EU? Doesn't mention anything about this. If they are limiting to 20mg, by the time you add flavourings will you be able to mix 18mg? Just a thought, never mixed my own juice before, just doesn't add up.

Above has posted the same as I was typing by the looks of it :)

To clarify, does the nic limit refer to just juice or nic base as well.............could be wording specific?

I'll be stocking up apparently lasts 10 years in the freezer (unopened).

as you know mate I've been around a while and prepared to stock pile on a few occasions, but tbh at best under optimum conditions, maybe? I will stock pile but it will be last minute to get the best longevity of my nic supplies :)

Well me being cynical, and read what I can.
It looks to me like they are trying to stem the floods of smokers turning to the e-cig, in preparation for when they pounce. They have gone round and trimmed all the edges off, leaving just enough to look like a compromise.
But in reality, they have hammered what they can.
They let us keep small refillables. And took away the rest.
We can have 20mg juice. Ok but not that good for new vapers. Knocks diy on the head.
We can buy 20 litres at a time, but in 10ml bottles. That's just dumb.
They left flavours alone. Only because you can get them to easily.
And in 2 years time, when big t and pharma get their medical licenses, they'll ban the rest as unsafe.

To try and stave off massive civil disobedience, they're playing for time.

Chris Davies seems like a decent chap. Which is more than can be said for that little rat Linda McAvan.

I think once all the e-liquid manufacturers are registered with the government, we will see what they really have planned. I'm thinking the manufacturers will have to buy their nicotine solution direct from the government with a massive tax added onto it. Or we will see a massive tax added onto each 10ml bottle.

Just a question to some of the liquid manufacturers on here. How are these new laws likely to affect you? Will the customer as it stands face much of a price increase?
