@Abyss Stick with it, honey. I'm like you - just want a fuss-free vape that tastes good, gives sufficient throat-hit and satisfies my nicotine cravings, and I think I've finally found the kit to suit me. I've also never got on with washing and reusing kit (I get the same thing - muted taste), but if you get something with a changeable coil, it's still pennies on the pound compared to smoking even if you buy new ones each time. And when I say "finally", I'm talking only three months in. Now all I have to do (once I've bought a couple of spare tanks) is refill my juice and pop in a new coil head when it starts to act funky. Easy as.
Like many, I started on the cigalikes and I thought "WOW - this is an alternative to smoking that will actually get me off the coffin nails" - and it did. The I switched to an ego/CE setup and never looked back. Yesterday my hubby was clearing out our junk drawer and passed me a cigalike and asked me if it still had anything on it or needed chucking. I had a draw on it and...well, what a feeble attempt in comparison to proper vaping! Don't get me wrong, they did their job, but in comparison to vaping they're weaksauce indeed.
Anyway, on to suggestions:
1. If you're swapping one flavour for a similar one / one that won't clash, don't bother washing out the clearo. For example if you're swapping tobacco for RY4 or blueberry for strawberry or whatever. Keep one clearo for fruity juices, one for tobaccos, one for custard/caramel/vanilla (or whatever your particular faves are). Yes, the first few draws will be a mingling of the flavours, but that's not the end of the world unless you're trying a new flavour for a review or testing your own mix or something.
2. Try some different tanks / clearos. For fuss-free chaps and chapesses like me and thee, I think the best options are probably bottom-coiled tanks where you literally pop/screw a new head in when the old one gets tired - they also come in varying resistances (ohms), so you can work out which gives the best flavour, throat-hit and vapour production for you.
I hope that helps, sweetie.
Edit: PS - If the CEs suit you, if you get the CE4+/CE5s, they have replaceable wicks, which is much cheaper than buying a whole new unit each time.
