:hello:

. :newhere:

I turned 50 the other day. I was diagnosed with COPD about 8 years ago but continued to smoke with the occasional vein attempt at stopping smoking. I have successfully used the vape on most of these occasions but didn't care enough to stay stopped.

I have decided to take my life seriously now and its day one of the vape. Problem is that it is making me cough this time round. It may be that my COPD has progressed and trying to reject the e cig? I am hoping that in a couple of days my body will get used to the vape over the roll up cig.

Don't say that I need not being putting anything in my lungs. I am a hardcore nicotine addict and smoked for 39 years. I need something in my lungs :17:

Did you find the e cig made you cough at first? And did you get used to it?

Hi and welcome. What device are you using. What strength nicotine are you using?
For me the transition was super smooth. For others there will be coughing. Coughing is quite normal and should subside over a few days or so.

However getting the right set up and juice is really important as this can make or break your vaping experience.

As for your coughing as you have just started to vape this will happen at first but will go i coughed for a few days at first now i only cough now and then i have also got copd due to being a heavy smoker for many years.

I think the juice I am using is the one below the strongest as I thought this may be the problem.

But good to hear the reactions like coughing should subside. I know once I am on the vape then my breathing improves as I did it for 6 months once and my breathing improved quite a bit.

Hi mate, I coughed trying MTL, and still do when I try it. But never have DTL.

Hi fellow COPD friend. Perhaps you shouldn't have revealed the COPD as now I have lots of questions for you....lololol....

How long did you smoke for? I smoked for 39 years. What stage are you? I am moderate. How long have you stopped smoking for? I'm restarting stopping from today. And how has your health/COPD improved by not smoking and vaping instead?

No worries if you do not want to answer. I just haven't really spoke many other COPD vapers.

Hi and welcome to the forum from a fellow copd victim.
Coughing is the body's way of getting rid of all the shit in your lungs and should ease off after time as your lungs get used to not being full of tar.
In the early stages of vaping it is also important to drink plenty of fluids.
