Few questions for the genesis gurus!

When I first started wicking these, I thought SS mesh was the devil. Dry hits galore. Not any more I'm pleased to say. The key is no not use too much mesh IMHO. I roll a tube around a pin that fits easily so there's plenty of space for the juice to sit and when tooting, I make sure the wick is laying in the juice. Trial and error I reckon.

@remnant Do you find your getting less dry(ish)hits with that? I ask as I have some SS cable,SS mesh, but found it was a swine to avoid hotspots suddenly appearing mid-tank and once I'd had a hotspot,no matter how I tried,I couldn't get rid.

I don't think I've had a any dry hits at all with this build on the Aga-T2. I did have one possible case of a popped coil, but that may have been from dicking about with the coil - it was ducking in and out of 1.2ohms, giving me intermittent performance on the Vamo, and I was nudging the wraps this way and that - so it was probably my fault. Since I moved the genny onto the Sig 19, no problems. The Aga-S has been entirely problem free, unless you count that it looks ridiculous on both my mods. Gotta look at 14500 devices.

Atty arrived today, came with a fresh mesh wick already in there ready to go, coiled it up and filled it... shed loads of throat hit, by doesn't seem to be wicking too well, even tilted at at 15% angle (like I'm trying to drink the juice) I get dry hits. Not as bad as dry hits on silica but still not nice.. Any idea what could be going wrong here?

Doubt the juice is too thick, it's a 60/40 mix. Nice chunky atty with heft to it, so the lavatube now feels more substantial in my hand which is a major bonus!

Check reuse with power dropped a little,I've just been reworking because licorice juice is a twat for blocking my wicks.

Seedy would if I had one! :) The extent of my tool drawer is a plasterers trowel, skrimmer, shed loads of screw drivers, and some stanley knives haha.

Mesh wicks do take a little breaking in. Slightly longer to get going but on the other hand they also last a hell of a lot longer once they do get going :)

So perfectly normal to not wick too well in the beginning then?
