So this is my first attempt at an aga-t coil with silica wick and kanthal wire. Gonna try the titanium wire next. Tastes a bit rank at the minute guessing it's because of new wire and wick but time will tell. Does it look OK?
As long as it works it dont matter what it looks like seriously I think sometimes its easy to go abit ocd with these things, trying to get the coils perfectly even and the wick as straight as possible. It will taste a little rank until its broken in, usually takes 1/2 - 1ml of juice to get it working at its best.
Hi mate. Did you flame the wire before wrapping the coil? It's always best to run a lighter over the wire to anneal it and burn of the manufacturing coating. Also, I find silica wicks can take bit to bed in, they have a funky taste at first.
Thanks pf, good to know Thiswasfree yeah flamed the kanthal good and proper Have rebuilt ce4's and Vivi's before but this is my first proper rebuildable Atty. Gonna give it a few tanks and if it doesn't improve stick a titanium coil in. It's a bugger to get the wick in too.
One other thing keep in mind is the position of the air hole in the top cap. Ideally you should try and get the air hole so it lines up with the coil. The further away from the coil the harsher the vape.
Therein lies the pain in the arse part of the Aga-T. I use mine genesis style (get me!!!) but I'd imagine the cleaning process is the same. Basically you have to strip the bugger right down to bones, wash everything in hot water (or vodka), let it dry and rebuild it. If anybody knows any different PLEASE correct me cos it is frankly a pain, but a worthwhile pain for the vape quality
I thought as much Lord Grim. Does that mean a new coil each time? Have yet to use a genesis setup, gotta get some mesh soon. Bloody silica is a bugger to thread!
