First time building.....

Ive just purchased some japanese cotton and some wire for using with rda deck on the subtank mini. How do i know how many wraps etc to do if i want to build something between 1.2 and 1.8 ohms? The wire the b&m suggested to me was '0.3' whatever that means and ive heard the wrapping around the screwdriver supplied in the subtank box will suffice? Heeeelllp meeeeee. Thank you please

I just did a guess job...9 wraps and it came out at 1.3....woohoo. put some cotton in...huge cloud...but i think less flavoir than the occ. Still at 18w.gonna have a few puffs now to check its wicking right...but for my first ever guess attempt at a build im chuffed.

0.3 ! I guess that is 0.30mm. Not a bad gauge to be working with really but that does depend on what type of coil a bit & what the atty is. All the same, your 9 wraps & 1.3ish ohm sounds consistent with that gauge.

Im using the subtank mini rba deck. Made another for charly123 and it came out at 1.4 .as a rule would more wraps equate to higher resistance? I would like to get it down to 1.1 or 1.2 if possible but i suppose fiddling is the key to getting it right.

Yep, simple as. Wrap the same coil again with one less wrap & that should hit around the mark. Have a tinker, best way to suss it.
Mind you, if you have a vw device it won't make much difference, just turn up the power a bit instead.

It's all just personal preference really. Just tinker with your wattage until you find that sweet spot, unless you wanted to go low & chase clouds (Not my forte) . You'll know if you're too hot because it will taste wrong, burnt. I'm currently putting approximately 12watts into a 1.4 (ish) ohm coil in my dripper & getting what i consider a sensible type of vape for me. Plenty of density & flavour, i don't lung hit but if i wanted to i could with that build, just not my thing.
It's good to experiment at first but whatever you do you'll evolve from it some time. It has a way of proving you either right or wrong.
