Hello
I'm a new forum member I just wanted some advice I'm in the middle of building my first mod.
It's a sx350 wood box mod made out of serpent wood.
Just got some questions is there anywhere in the uk that sells good ss 510 conectors and what finish would be best Danish oil or varnish.
and is it best to make battery conectors out of brass like seedys mod or use plastic battery holders.
Thank you

Here is some Photos of my mod so far just got to cut the window and drill some holes for the buttons etc

Hi, I like the serpant wood, its beautiful!

Most make there own battery connectors if space is going to be an issue. If not id recommend the keystone ones, robust and have nice gold plated connectors. Stealthvape now stocks them too which is a bonus.

For the 510 i know seedy stocks a nice one on his site. Id also recommend the ocd connector from stealthvape, thats what im using for my build and is very well made.

No idea about varnishing/oils tho :(

Hello
thanks for your help
I've ordered a spring loaded ss 510 connector from supa vape. I've already got a battery holder from seedy.
and I'm going to use danish oil because like you said it will be better to reapply to cover scratches i was just worried about it coming off on hands and clothing.

sorry for all the questions you two have been very helpful thank you.

Danish oil all day long. I used beeswax on the last one but it takes a lot of buffing.
My next ones going to have a Danish oil bath for a night.

Hello
I've been doing more to my mod today.
I've drilled the holes for the buttons, cut the window and the usb, sand blasted the aluminium top for a matt finish and rounded the corners. I've just got to add the perspex window and apply the finish then add the electronics then it should be done.

I'm thinking off adding lipo batteries instead of the 18650 because there's more space inside.

That's looking really nice. Lipos are great but remember you're tied to usb charging if you use them. Unless you connect them up with a Deans connector or something and rig up a charger with the same connection at home..
