Depends bud what you gonna try wicking? If it's tanks like protank or evods some .20 kanthal and 2mm silica wick from stealthvape if it's drippers same thing, if it's stuff like rebuildable attys you'd need some mesh or ss rope most likely

Order a card of wire with at least 0.2 mm & 0.3 mm on it,these 2 sizes will accommodate most atties, wicking materials..stainless steel mesh #400 suits most mesh requirements,2 mm/3 mm silica wicks or go raid the baby/make-up sections in supermarkets for a bag of organic unbleached cotton wool,or rob the end off a cotton bud.Lengths of wire don't need be massive,a metre of each, same with silica, metre of each, stainless mesh is often small squares (15 cm*25 cm)that will last an age(I bought 1 piece of mesh 6 months ago & only used about a quarter of it despite throwing away wicks that had clogged with my licorice juice)

How about eckowool, I came across that while searching the net lastnight

Best advice I can pass on is to buy pre-made wires, like these . You know what resistance they are always going to be, and they are easy to work with.

I have been vaping for over two years and have avoided rebuildables for eighteen months because I am a cack- handed buffoon with absolutely no patience. The combination of ecowool silica wick and pre-made wires has changed vaping for me beyond belief! In have bought four rebuildables atomisers in as many weeks, and absolutely love them!

Just remember to put a bit of juice on the silica when you cut and work with it - keeps fraying and floating fibres to a minimum.

Hope this helps? Have fun! :D

Just like Dexter said put juice on your silica to stop fibres floating about and stop it from fraying OR I use a micro blow torch, this also stops it from fraying makes it stiffer for coiling but careful as it stays hot for a little while.
You will pick up little tricks along the way but my biggest advice is never rush your coils and check the ohms at each step.
I love making coils as I used to work in electronics so it came easy to me and I am no expert.

And to illustrate driver2883's point about picking up tips, he's just passed on a tip to me regarding torching the silica! Top job! :D

The best way I have found is to find someone who can sit with you and show you how to make coils and wicks, 15 mins of one on one is worth a hundred hours on Youtube and forums. :).

I was the first person to embrace vaping at work and with my friends so its been me who has had to do it the hard way and teach myself the skills to make a descent coil and wick and after a lot of initial disasters I can now make a fair coil and wick :). But now I seem to have impromptu coiling sessions with people and most people seem to get the method in a short time but showing says a thousand words and almost all now make their own coils and wicks :). The ones that don't can't have fat fingers or just cant see that small, I still help and make coils for them and to make my life easy they are mostly converted to cotton wool wicks so I don't have to make coils I just change the wick. :) and most of them can now roll a bit of cotton wool to re wick in an emergency so all is good.

So find a friend have a quick one on one coiling session and you will wonder why you had a problem :).
