Morning all; yesterday morning i had my last cig plus a third of a pipe, now going tobacco free. Been vaping 87 days now but was still smoking about 3 a day. now that i got used to vaping more i feel it is time to quit smoking all together for good. got the old tobacco flavour juices if i get desperate for a smoke. anybody here a dual user, or was?

I was, for about a year. I cut down from 30-40 a day to about 5 a week in that time, and whilst I still enjoyed the odd one I decided to call it a day. Never looked back since! That was 15 months ago now, and while I still like the smell of a lit cigarette (but not the smell of someone who's just put one out), and the occasional "Oooh, I could just fancy a smoke", I've had no slipups. The closest I came was on Saturday when a family member who didn't know I had quit gave me a particularly nice cigar. I took it, so as not to offend but left it in its tube, proclaiming that I was a bit drunk to enjoy it, when he announced that he was having a whiskey and cigar night! I might have to have a 24 hour bug that day....

I am sure there will be we have over 7000 members its great to be free of it well done, i stopped back in October and have never felt the need to go back to it

i am enjoying the new hobby to much

I am finding after 87 days of vaping daily the tobacco is starting to taste more and more horrible, too nasty tasting now to get through one smoke. can't dual use anymore now..

Perfect time to switch then. Just one bit of advice from me, which goes against the grain of anything the government sanctioned quit monkeys will tell you. If you want a smoke badly enough, have one. It'll go some way towards reminding you why you swapped to vaping. And if you are like me, after a while, no matter how much you want one, you won't have one. It becomes like a badge of honour..."Three months since I smoked....Seven months since I smoked...nearly a year since...etc etc"

Thanks pal; yes you're right what you say, lighting a smoke would definitely remind me of how lousy it really tastes, and though I would feel like one I would probably put it straight out if I did try one. Hopefully.

Well done, and as others have said, if you feel stressed or anxious enough to want a smoke then have it, don't beat yourself up about it either!
It's the ones you don't smoke that count!

I've gone from 30 a day down to about 4-5. Yesterday was weird because I only had 1 all day. I roll my own so I enjoy rolling them and I love the smell of a freshly opened pack of tobacco.

Dont' worry, if you get into recoiling, you'll have plenty to keep your hands busy!

Well done Vaping50 that's great news on the fags! Did you ever think you'd be saying 'no I don't smoke'!?
