What's new

hcigar mods and other clones

that bordering on a usefull idea @whit77
offhand, if you can do this accurately, what imr 18350 batts have you got, and what are their lengths? i have unprotected here that almost fit ok, but protected are way too big (both nipple tops), so i should get some imr18350...is that what you have? lenth in mm if possible pls pls

another thought, did you guys just get the caravela, or the caravela+tube set? mine was just caravela and an optional tube (which wa wrongly supplied as a driptip lol) wondering if the tubes for 18350 are the same for both mods.

the one on focalecig differs a lot form this one...top cap material, switch throw...and as mentioned diameters. but someone bought one last night in their flash sale for $9. lucky chap
(not me)

btw, you can make springs from old guitar strings. or even new ones if you have some. wind to shape, heat up in oven....just like we do with microcoils

I've got efest nipple top imr's and torchy flat top imr's no way of measuring them accurately but the nipple top are bigger, not much help but its all know :D

ok, do you remember before you machined the switch, when fitting it with flat tops, and the pin was removed/all the way in, did it close fully? my batteries currently, even if i remove the pin, are too big for the vela to screw closed fully. so as long as they are small enough to give some pin touching goodness thats all I would need to know.

without the pin their was 1mm of clearance :)

edit: with flat tops

With efest imr flat top fully closed there is definitely space enough to rattle as I said with the photo of the taifun.

If I screw the taifun to the top cap then adjust pin to meet the taifun pin then assemble the mod there is battery rattle so there's definitely some free space.

I ordered just the 18350.

I think some of these velas are slightly different length tubes, you anly had half a mm gap or so? with a torchy flat top and a igo w I had a good 2mm gap

With efest 18350 flat top and the igo-l I have less then 1mm gap, with taifun I have no gaps and battery rattle until I adjust my taifun pin :)

Photo shows a efest IMR flat top with the igo-l.

The gap between the igo-l and the top cap is not measurable as its to small.

not sure if this helps, but my tube is exactly 45.00mm...4.5cm spot on 100%
