It will be alot safer than smoking. I have a heart murmur and have noticed a distinct drop in the amount of irregular and missed beats. Nicotene does effect the heart though so maybe you could use vaping as a way to slowly cut it down? If you google "nicotine and the heart" there are some surprising results ranging from the all nicotine is evil through to studies showing that it is actually benificial to the heart after attacks. At the end of the day it's got to be better that sparking up :). I would say if in doubt ask your dr, many are learning the benifits of vaping but there are still some dinosaurs out there who tow the official nhs line of sticking with the proven nrts (proven to be useless ;) )

Thanks for that purplefowler, i have a low dose i think its 8, have not started it yet just chasing info and would be great to stop smoking :)

Information is power, lol! You might find that 8mg might be a little low at first but it is quite easy to cut it down. I started on 16mg, soon dropped to 12mg and I'm now on 4-6mg. Also the gear you use can help sometimes. There have been reports round here recently that when some folks use different atomisers they have had to cut down their Nic intake! Have a browse around, we have had some pretty impressive health stories come through the planet, it makes for some interesting reading. Keep us posted and if you have any questions, no matter how small you think they are, just ask, we are always happy to help and your question might just help the next new vaper :)

I have a stent fitted (just the one, I'm not greedy) and although I stopped smoking in 1974, I have just taken up vaping. I don't know if it bad or not but I am enjoying it. You read everywhere that Vaping Nic has got to be better than taking all the rubbish that comes with it in smoke.

Hi, I would say that by vaping, you are still getting the nicotine you crave, but without the other 4000 chemicals that are contained in cigarette smoke which cause the heart problems and cancer! What do you currently smoke and how many a day? I was on rollies for over 30 years and quite a heavy smoker. I found vaping supplied the nicotine I craved, satisfied my hand to mouth 'needs' and by blowing out the 'vape' reproduced all the sensations I missed by not smoking and enabled me to quit rollies from day 1 of vaping. My doctor was very happy and said that I am dramatically reducing my risk of heart disease and cancer and that's only after 3 months. With your history I would suggest you speak to your doctor about this, but I'm sure they will prefer vaping to smoking. Best of luck and ask again if you need more advice or suggestions of kit to get etc.

Just a quickie on that. I also was on 20+ rollies aday for over 30 years. I starting vaping a few weeks ago, and only today have I managed to go without a stinky. Just shows we is all different.
