Heron Help!

My heron finally arrived today Was particularly happy as I can now taste NanaBozo in the way ZT intended, as I from what i've read, he's partial to a heron or 10.

After a huge panic when the 510 wouldn't quite reach my connector....by about 0.0001mm....some slight adjustment to my mod and it now works....


But...can anyone help me with....

1: A good source to buy, or way of constructing a sturdier spring, as the one inside isn't awful but I know it could be better!

2: Anyone know the screw size, or failing that, the most effective way of securing the kanthal.

I'm asking, as my first build is running about 0.1 maby 0.2 ohm higher than i'd expect...so i'm imagining its due to these factors...

Screw problem is fixed, realized they were a tad too long, so out came the vice and needle files.

Any suggestions for a nice spring / possible causes of resistance would be welcomed / appreciated

p.s. for your amusement: didn't realize the ring around the deck could be removed while building....I thought setting this up was comparable to keyhole surgery...wow im a d***!

Sorry I can't help. No issues with my screws, or builds and as my two herons just worked from the get go I've not taken them apart

@Mark Funnily enough, after my screw grinding and discovery of the removable ring...my second build is working flawlessly. This is a great bit of kit! Now everything is more accessible, it allowed me to secure the kanthal correctly, so no dodgy resistances. 1 happy vaper here now!

I think with all difficulty you encounter in life, however small / self inflicted....you gain a better sense of appreciation when overcome!....in this case, it feels soooo easy to build on now its ridiculous!

I also haven't had any problems with the spring on my heron clones, & JustDave sorted me out with some slightly shorter screws but you've already fixed that issue.
When I'm using them on my paps clones they're in hybrid mode & I usually use flat top batteries but I've discovered that I can use my nipple tops too, but only just. They really compress the spring to the max, but that's probably a good thing.

I got a load of cheap random springs. .. not sure any would be suitable. .. anyone know the size? If so post it and if I have an equivalent you can have it. .. I got them to fix a switch on a mod...
