My name's Bernie, I've been a smoker for 40 years and have decided to give these electronic thingies a go.
If I get one of the cheapos from the supermarket what do I do when I want to change from tobacco flavour?

I dont know anyone else who uses these things so I'm a total noob, any advice/tips would be very useful
Many thanks

Welcome to the planet :) don't bother with the supermarket ones, they work out expencive in the long run and don't give you the satisfaction you'll be looking for. Good luck and if you have any questions just yell :)

Hello and welcome Qman. A lot of people start off with the cig-a-likes, but the batteries don't last long and cartridges run out quite quickly.

If you are keen enough to search on line and find us, then I think you're ready for the next step. The starter kit mentioned above is a good starting point and myepack are a very good vender, with good customer service. You will need to get some juice to get going, lots of people start with tobacco flavours and then move on to others.

How much do you smoke each day? This will give us an idea of nicotine level to start with. Heavy smokers can start as high as 24mg nicotine, many find 18mg is enough to keep the cravings at bay. It could be an idea to get one juice at 24mg for mornings or when cravings are bad and then another juice at 18mg for the rest of the time!

Give us some idea of your smoking levels and others can suggest more.

Best of luck whatever you go for, and we're here to help and happy to answer questions!

Welcome Bernie, And best of luck on your journey.
36 years for me. And loving every minute of vaping.
And there is no such thing as a silly question here. If in doubt just ask.

+1 for the evod kit - hello and welcome to the planet Qman - there's lots of weird and wonderful varied flavours for you to try from custard to sweet to fruit to chilli and everything inbetween buddy - happy vaping

Any questions and we will always try to answer them for you :)

Hi Bernie I have given up after 30 years. I started using the cigarette style ones along with nico gum but still found it hard. As the previous comment the batteries don't last long same with the cartridges. Also the problem I had was it also didn't give the flavour and throat hit of a cigerrtte. I moved onto the vip photon tank and it has been great. You can google vip ecig. Also I have found that menthol delivers pretty much everything a cigarette gave me really satisfying flavour and throat hit and the nicotine hit stops craving for a real cig. I'm still a newbie at it but so far so good. Good luck on your journey I'm pretty sure you can kick the cigs once you get yourself the kit and found the right flavour.

Wow, I'm not used to these quick replies, most forums are full of tumbleweed these days, great to find one with active users.

Right lets start...
I smoke between 12-20 cigarettes a day, of the light variety, currently JPS blue
My smoling is more habit (I think), once many years ago I tried substituting cigs with Pepsi and was going through about 4 litres a day ;-)
Vaping was recommended to me yesterday bu someone I got chatting to on Facebook, they gave me the link to here so I thought "Why not", I checked out the supermarket ones online and couldn't believe how cheap they were, nearly went & bought one today but after reading earlier replies I reckon that I've had a lucky escape.

My only concern is this: If I bite the bullet and order one of the Evods as recommended I'm looking at £28.99 plus juice (more on that later), now if I find that its not for me thats a big waste, would one of the cheapies give me any idea if vaping is roght for me? THEN I could go for a 'proper' one.

Looking through the myepack list of flavours is mind boggling, U have to (currently) relate it to smoking and do I really want a banana flavoured smoke?? where do I start? I'd love to kick the habit, and the thought of inhaling pleasant flavours rather than tobacco sounds great, but how do I decide what to get?

Has anyone on here thought "blueberry, that would be nice" only to find that inhaling blueberry is nothing at all like eating them, is there anything I should avoid, at least to start with.

I need a bit of convincing, and I need to know that my hard earned cash is being spent a better way than it currently is

HELP :-)
