Passive smoking warning as e-cigarettes are found to harm bystanders | Metro News

What do you think?

To be honest this i think would be true?

"Dr. Camilla Stoltenberg, Director-General at the NIPH, says, ‘The health risks of long-term e-cigarette use in the population are unknown.Since e-cigarettes supply nicotine in the same quantities as cigarette smoking, the same harmful effects from nicotine can be expected."

The harmful effects from cigarettes are not because of the nicotine. So it can be true, but at the same time time not actually mean what it looks like it means.

Right, that's it, i'm packing it all in now, vaping is bad & that's that ! :16: The public are dropping like fies thanks to all this e-cig nonsense, the earth is getting warmer, the ice caps are melting & polar bear numbers are dwindling. E-cigs must be stopped right this instant !!!!

This is the report that all the papers are doing the hatchet job of at the moment.

Funny how it's nothing more than a Norwegian review of present data yet our wonderful media present this as 'a new study has found...' making out that this is new scientific evidence.

It isn't.

Other fun headlines they could have ran with include

Ecigs found not to be carcinogenic to bystanders.

Egics found to be much less of a carcinogen than tobacco smoke.

But no, the media decided this report proves it's harmful to bystanders.

I get thoroughly confused by all of this passive smoking/vaping thing. What gets me is that people, all over the world, have smoked tobacco for 100's of years, exhaling tons of smoke and nicotine, so? why is everybody on the planet not a "victim" of passive smoking, and where has all that 100's of years worth of smoke/nicotine gone? :D :D
I can get the close proximity thing, you can see it and you can smell it, but say, 50 yards away, you can't see it or smell it, is it still there? does it become safe over distance? or does it just magically disappear into nothingness? I'm sure that if mice could talk, they'd be able to tell me.
I know it's not really a laughable thing but I had to chuckle. Those researchers sound as if they've hit on a miracle nicotine generator that can actually produce more nicotine than was there in the first place.
