Horizon: Dr Michael Mosley

No, not at all

It was very positive, basically praised for being much less harmful than smoking but still harmful

Would like to hear more about the damage differnces caused by different flavorus

I rolled my eyes a little with the two vape volunteers going in to that room. Caps, beards, blowing huge clouds just seemed to want to fog it up as much as they could :D

Could have easily watched that for another hour or two

Did any apes make the final cut?
Clouds bro! I must admit I did wince when I saw the snap backs!

Well the beard with the man behind it was our very own @remnant...

I avoided this on TV but decided to watch it on the iPlayer (where I could kid myself it constituted some kind of work ands I would be more likely to watch it all). I must say, I thought it was good, balanced and genuinely interesting. It wasn't a hatchet job on vaping and no one was made to look foolish. Mosley was an engaging presenter/participant. Overall, a beneficial programme, I think.

Just finished watching this programme and i must say the evidence of the benefits of vaping far exceed the cons of it, and obviously it was proven that whilst cigarettes impair the bodys cellular repair function entirely, vaping does not stop this at all, although it does still kill off a handful of cells BUT it does not impair the cellular repair function in the body and its still healthier and beneficial, a good well rounded programme showing both sides of the argument for vaping.

I just watched the programme and I take back my earlier comment.
It was much better than I thought, my common sense conclusion to this is that the harm accumulated over time is hugely far less than smoking.

If smoking harms our cells to regenerate and vaping does the same but at a very small percentage over time, then the harm from vaping is negligible.
What we don't know as they say is the long term side effects but logically I feel it is fearing over something that will never come to pass, only time will tell.

Also take into account the hundreds of carcinogens we don't consume versus smoking which in theory would drive down the implications of vaping overtime as well.

I really thought this was a good show. Remember it's aimed at the general public, not the vaping community, and it has just an hour to take you through everything. I am happy it stayed on point and didn't tackle the politics as that was not the point of the show. I would have liked to know out of interest what level of nicotine Dr Mosley was vaping, I would perhaps have liked to hear it mentioned that there is nicotine free juice, but for an hour I thought it really made some good points in a clear way.
And if there hadn't been a single cloud blowing snap-back wearing bearded gent in the whole show, I would have been suspicious too!

There's a bit in the film where he's having his schedule worked out on a laptop and I thought it said 12mg on the screen but I didn't pause it or anything so I could be wrong.

I was on this program trying to give up useing a e cig . Still struggling to kick the habit on champix now and still puffing on e cig but just don't seem to be able to stop .

I managed to watch this yesterday and on balance, found it positive.
The 'dead cell' test with the flavourings was interesting, and was the main reason I watched the program.
The 'aerosols' test in the booth made me wince. I do believe I saw 110watts on the chaps device and there was no wonder the aerosol count went through the roof, he was chucking out vapour.
The end result that Dr Mosley reached, dont begin if you dont smoke and do begin if you do, was sound, if not obvious advice.

Hi there @rolly h, welcome to the Planet, I'm not sure what devices and advice you got but if it was the "Standard" pen type device then there is much better kit available, it might also be that you need a higher nicotine level juice too, let us know what kit you have and we'll see if we can help - but don't worry yourself about it too much - It's more about the ciggy's you didn't smoke than the ones you did. Each one you didn't smoke is just one more little victory in your fight to give up, the right kit will make it easier but for some people it just takes time. It's better to cut down than not to try at all...
