How to know if you have a short or not?

How many people live in the house you could have burnt to the ground building that without testing it first? As much as you believe in yourself it's not worth the risk without testing your firework before you light it and loose some teeth can't you test your atty on your old Kanger? If not put it down until tomorrow before you give vaping a bad name again!!!

lol ;) fair enough mate. I will definitely give it a test on my coil reader before going on it again! Sadly cant do it on my kanger as one it didn't have an ohm reader and 2 i got rid of it :/

Am i right in saying that as a general rule. As long as i test it and it's not reading as 0 Ohms and that my battery is safe and recommended that i am in the clear?

Oh man this is quite a lot to take on board. All i know is that i have copied a YouTube tutorial from a experienced vaper. All i have done is got my coil out of the package, put it from one side of the deck to another and screwed it on. here's 2 pics, tell me if you see anything out of the ordinary :)

It's looks fine but seriously, don't ever put a tank/RDA on a mech without checking it on a regulated mod/ohm reader first..... not ever.

Sorry that I came across as rude before, we are all here to help you and each other but you broke the #1 rule, that could have literally just gone bang when you pushed the button to vape. .... it could have been faulty manufacturing in the RDA even if you checked your build visually.

Looks very close to the deck from that picture. Look just put it down. Do some practise on a regulated mod until you're confident in what you're doing. You've asked a shit load of questions tonight which is good but it just goes to show that at the moment you haven't done enough research on the type of mod you're using to be safe. It that thing blows up, you're not always gonna get a warning, one minute you'll be sucking. Next minute you'll have summer teeth... As in some are there, some are not.....

No you need to check your resistance of your coil on steam engine to make sure your not pulling more amps from what your battery is rated at so it's safe

Your battery voltage needs setting to 4.2 and your reading on your ohm reader putting in and it will show you the amp make sure it's not above your battery's rating
