What's new

I burn coils constantly

My Cleito is a pain in the arse to wick on both coil types... Unsurprising considering how much cotton is in them.

I jab a needle through the cotton a couple of times in two of the little windows on the side

Then after a few pulls unscrew the top a small amount just until the bubbles stream up.. it's good as gold after that

You've never seen bubbles? on both my tanks I see little air bubbles each and every time after i take a hit.

That's normal. It's a sign of good wicking. You described the bubbles coming from the cotton in your OP

If you're looking for a new tank, try the Uwell Crown SE1 or the original. 5ml tank and the smoothest DTL I've had with stock coils. I've got one of each and love them both!

They are thirsty buggers though lol :D

I agree with this comment

I had the same issue as you wth factory coils although on different tanks to those you refer to. This is he main reason I started building my own coils. My coils still get burned but now I just take out the wick, burn off the crap and rewick the coil.

However, once you start building your own you open up a different world of vaping.

Happy vaping,
SM

I've never had issues with the Cleito nor the .4 coils I use, maybe you have a coil which is a dud? This can happen, not all coils you get will work properly. So try a new coil, prime properly and leave it sit for 15 mins or so then vape low then gradually increase it.

In regards with the need for something that holds more juice, you can buy an extended glass for the cleito.. I think it's called the fatboy.

I kept getting dry hits and no bubbles when I first started, I found out this was due to me screwing the cap on too tight. Try screwing it so you just feel the bite of the tank.. hand tight not overtighten :)

Bubbles is bad. It normally means there is a vacuum - which is released when you open the top cap, hence the bubbles coming up. I have seen bubbles when I first fill with a new coil but that settles once the cotton is fully saturated. As DMAN said, priming the coils properly reduces the saturation time.

I did have a huge problem with a Uwell Crown 2 tank - vacuum issues where out of nowhere I'd get a massive punch in the throat dry hit as the vacuum would prevent the juice reaching the cotton. The only way around it at the time was to open the top cap every 2-3 draws, let the bubbles escape then continue. This eventually turned out to be a problem with the grommet under the drip tip. There should always be a slight air escape at the top to prevent the vacuum, in the case of the Crown 2 the grommet was slightly out of shape and causing a complete seal.

So check over your seals.

EDIT: I did have a Cleito 120 back in the day and do remember getting a batch of dud coils which did have flavour issues (was obvious as the Cleito 120 flavour was incredible all other times). Try a new pack of coils.

yes i prime the coils.

last one lasted less than 24 hours. BS

I just bought a coil for each tank i have and I tried poking a hole with a pin and all it did was make it cave in on itself and make it totally unusable. either that or it was defective. The other one just burnt I dont know why. Maybe cuz i wasnt paying attention and went to hit it when it was only half full and tipping it make it go below the cotton...

I am so aggravated with vaping I am about to either go cold turkey or buy a apack of cigarettes.

Try to hang in there! I haven't used the Cleito or Smok tanks so don't know what the problem could be. Hopefully someone will be along that can help you.

I have read that Smok have some dodgy coils but if you're having the same problem with both tanks maybe it's something else.

Sorry I couldn't help more :(
