They were taken with the iPhone 5s and a clip on macro, the biggest thing that makes a difference is being able to take them outside in natural light, I've recently bought a light box with LED's but it doesn't compare, although still not a bad pic you can see a huge difference between the below pic done under LED's and the pics you quoted in your comment..
