If you often get sore throat or lungs - READ THIS

A Data Sheet about nicotine does nothing to explain why this means this forum is prone to overstressing PG intolerance...

Of course nicotine is toxic in higher concentrations. Nobody has ever questioned that - but why is that particularly relevant to your argument when the highest concentration available in the UK is 20mg (2%) and discussion on acquisition and use of higher concentrations is absolutely verboten on this forum?

It's not just me who has to produce evidence.

We've had 15 pages of discussion on this thread so far and none of you have produced a single thing to prove me wrong.

Here is an article in 'Medical News Today' from back in February about nicotine poisoning and the fact that cases have increased due to vaping.

https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/319627#how-much-nicotine

It really is you that has to provide evidence as it is YOU that is stating something as fact.

Nobody has questioned that nicotine is dangerous in higher concentrations - you have stated this forum is prone to overstressing PG intolerance and playing down the 'real' problem which is higher concentrations of nicotine.

PROVE IT - try to find evidence posted in recent years, I'm sure other members can link to threads that clearly show the direct opposite of what you claim to be "truth". If they can be arsed, because I certainly can't - but why should they when the onus is on you to support your claims. Pity you didn't join that thread to explain the dangers of higher concentrations of nicotine eight years ago when it was still freely available in the UK, that horse bolted ages ago as TPD removed most of the danger zone level nic juices from our shelves back when God was a lad.

Out of curiosity - are you a US resident who mixes their own juice and uses highly concentrated nic as an ingredient?

I'm sure there are a lot of US residents who stocked up for the vape holocaust who have stored lots of concentrated nicotine that could be way past its use by date and be the equivalent of vaping peppery farts.

What is wrong with people?

I'm a 10 year vaper and I vape because I love it and it P's me right off when I see it being banned and constantly attacked by the anto vaping mob.

There's a whole long list of positive reasons we could focus on to promote vaping but at the same time you also need to also work out how to best handle the nicotine elephant in the room.

I know one of the ingredients in my vape is a poison and I've had enough personal experience of what happens if too much nicotine builds up in your system.

Yet all I keep hearing is that oh, it's the PG, it's the lemon or it's uncle Tom's cat. Just read your own posts.

Your evidence is right there in black and white.

Don't be in denial. Sooner or later the evidence will bite us all in the arse if we can't take our own heads out of the sand.

No - what you are reading is that nicotine is not the only possible irritant, what you are interprdeting that to mean isn't what is written.

You are claiming that to inform people of other potential irritants is playing down the dangers of nicotine - which is your interpretation rather than undisputable fact.
.
Advising people there is more than one potential irritant to check for is helpful and informative (IMO) as anyone having an adverse reaction has the option of buying/mixing juices that do not contain the elements they find troublesome..

Suggesting alternatives actually helps people and encourages more people to vape - it does not deter like you believe.

Are you an American? I'm asking this because you constantly refer to high nic levels - and we can't buy them legally here. Edit - forget the are you American question. I was typing when you posted a reply to that question.

No I'm not American. I'm going our for a while so I'll come back to do a better search later.

It`s best to leave it at, some vapers are intolerant of nicotine in all forms at the concentration levels used in vaping, the same is true of flavourings and dilutants, trial and deletion of one substance at a time is a sensible option to find which one is the problem.
The fact that there are 16 pages of discussion on the subject surely proves that there is no one solution to all.

There's nothing wrong with me, as a smoker I was consuming far more nicotine than I am now and I was never poisoned.

As John said in the very first post in this thread, it's the dose that makes a poison. Nicotine in the levels we take it should not be described as a poison, no more than the caffeine in a cup of coffee. It's a stimulant, a drug, sure... and in some cases can be a helpful drug.

The reason people suggest it could be flavourings or PG and not the nicotine is because most of us were consuming nicotine for years if not decades before we started vaping, it's about the only consistent 'ingredient' when you switch to the other. So for most people it wouldn't make sense that it was the reason for their intolerance to vaping.. wouldn't it seem more logical for it to be one of the 'new' things you had started to inhale?

People can get alcohol poisoning too, but for some reason I'm not worried when I have a glass of whiskey of an evening.

As most people have always said on here... or at least recommended, if you aren't a smoker and aren't a nicotine addict, then you shouldn't start vaping nicotine.

If you are a smoker and a nicotine addict, then vaping is a far better way to consume that nicotine. That's all there is to it really. If you don't get on with it or it gives you a sore throat- don't do it. You're an adult take some responsibility for yourself.

Can you grab me some more popcorn whilst you are out and about. :)
