Changed my mind to ‘give me the jab’.... one of my close friends has been floored by Covid over Xmas. Her family have been taking supplies to her house every day, and she’s barely been able to crawl down the stairs to open her front door. Luckily she didn’t go to her parents house for Xmas dinner because she’d started to feel ill, so self-isolated.

I hope now the Oxford vaccine’s been approved, things will start moving a bit quicker.

Oxford vaccine has been approved. They will start to roll it out on monday.

I guess I will have it, I am pretty optimistic about it tbh. So far, I am trying to keep the virus away by taking some good and healthy vitamins and supplements. I have got some from (ooopsy), and I hope that they are working and that they are really good for me. Do you guys take any vitamins?

There's a thread all about vit d and covid.

One of my daughter's (30yo, NHS PPE coordinator) has had the first dose of the pfizer vaccine, approximately 10 days ago and reports being "Very tired ever since". She is extremely muscular, low fat and healthy. She says she slept 10 hours last night, she is not usually a good or long sleeper, perhaps the vaccine is a cure for insomnia as well :hmm:

I hope she gets the second dose when she was originally supposed to. Seems a lof of GPs are revolting and are gonna give the second dose as originally planned. Good for them.

Yeah, when my name eventually gets pulled out of the hat, that’s the one I’d prefer to have.

Previously, I would've said the Pfizer one would've been my first choice but now they've changed the dosing regimen despite Pfizer and BioNtech both saying they've seen zero evidence to support the efficacy being touted after a single dose, like you, I would now prefer the Oxford version which has at least been tested in trials using various spacing between doses.

If anyone in my family had already had one dose of Pfizer and they then tried changing the second dose against the manufacturer's recommendation I'd be rightfully pissed and would expect our GP to use their discretion and give the second jab as originally agreed.

that's the thing when you see it up close and personal, then unless you have a swinging brick or no brain the opinion changes "o give me the jab" i still have no news on it we are still waiting but have are switching to rapid test kits which in IMO are complete shite that gives false readings are 50% or 60% accurate if you have a positive from a rapid, they test you then with a standard swab kit pretty daft but still all I've had are calls "can you come in", 'I'm on annual leave",,,,, "we know, can you come in"

I heard someone quit last week just walked in and said "enough" wow I didn't think you could do that I was told "its not the military" you can leave but just to walk like that jesus....

obviously, I'm nervous this morning, due in later and for the next 5 days I'm desperate to leave to find something else not sleeping well and shit loads of stress I would do anything to get rid of this its like an ever-continuing nightmare

I see we are getting a 180 turn for the umpteenth time today during the pandemic.

Yesterday it was vaccinating millions each week , today suddenly there is a shortage..... Tbh sick of everything the government says being reversed a day later now.

It's weird that millions of people are just waiting on a needle now. Even though most us know it's months away , just waiting around for the shot before our lives go back to normal
