What voltage are you using on your eVod?

You could buy a Vamo (or a Viper) and some Boge standard resistance cartos, fill the carto with 24mg PG (or 36mg if you are feeling very brave) and keep upping the voltage and wattage until you find your sweet spot.

I'm not sure you can ever match tobacco on fire completely for throat hit, but if you've not had a fag for 5 weeks, something must be working.

Don't hesitate to buy new stuff in your search, failure is not an option.

UMM I have no idea, the voltage that the evod comes with ? >< I did crank my vv Itaste up to 4.7 but I had the burnt taste meh ! Thanks for the advice !!

You are not alone , throat hit is overated in my book , i like it smooth , however 3 years or so into vaping and i find most vapes smooth , when i give a smoker a toot on my setup they all seem to cough like mad and tell me its mental strong , maybe i'm just used to it now .

Haha, My brother in law likes to think he is a heavily seasoned smoker, and smokes about 30 roll ups a day. I gave him a go with just an ego 3.7 with a vivi nova I had recoiled ,filled with a lovely smooth cherry. He took a mahooooosive blast, and nearly coughed a lung up.
I laughed so hard my stomach hurt!

You're not alone in needing that throat hit. I need to get that hit along with a huge cloud of vapor in order to be satisfied. I've just mixed mt first batch of DIY juice and made it 50/50 (PG/VG). It tastes okay but I'm not getting that throat hit when I use it with my regular vaping choice of carto's. I have to use a genesis attie and crank up the voltage to get a decent throat hit. I'm a bit disappointing but hey, it's all a learning curve! I think I need a more PG biased mix and I'll try that next. The genesis style atties are good for getting a throat hit but a bit fiddly to get right with the mesh wick and coil setup. If you like fiddling, It might be worth a go though.
