Incoming Fire..... Helmets on!

What a good thing it is that toilet rags like the mirror are slowly dying out as each generation discovers the internet and realises most of the sensationalist crap the toilet rags throw out is solely to try and sell more toilet rags.

It might well be utter ******* but this is how propaganda works, masses WILL be believing this.

So let's look at the figures:

19.2% have tried or purchased e-cigs.

Of those 19.2%, 15.8% had never smoked conventional cigarettes.

Therefore, 3.0336% of the sample had never smoked but had tried or purchased e-cigs.

And the crucial bit:

"Other experts, however, cautioned against jumping to conclusions, particularly since the study did not follow up to see whether children continued to use e-cigarettes after experimenting with initial puffs."

I made it 491 nonsmoking kids had tried ecigs, but given the figures also suggest that 40% of the total had tried tobacco cigarettes I think there are bigger things to worry about

Typical Mirror hatchet job.

Not only is vaping addictive and dangerous, it's also associated with violence apparently : "In all of those that drink, regardless of smoking status, e-cigarette access was associated with binge drinking and involvement with violence after drinking."

To be fair though, I'd probably be happy to slap the peabrained tosser who penned this bullshit.. sober or otherwise, so they may have a point.

Shame the figures have been twisted and sensationalised. I think the surveys show some good signs.

Kids are going to try vaping just as they'll try smoking ... same old same old regarding this impressionable age group with an urgent desire to adopt adult behaviours together with a high risk threshold.
Obviously we'd prefer U18s not to vape or smoke but given the option we'd prefer that they vaped - yet the survey says nothing with regard to continued use. Vaping's new and the young will have an adventurous outlook, so they're probably more likely to try vaping than adult smokers. The results tell us no more than kids are adventurous ... didn't we know that already?

The agenda here is anti-nicotine, the Tobacco Control agenda. Again I actually see some good news in this. If the ANTZ have to move the debate away from the "you don't know what's in it" argument with their pseudo-science to a straight debate on nicotine use, whatever the delivery system the we can allow real science to decide the outcome.

How are they allowed to post such trash????

Depends how they phrase it. Is it a fact, conjecture or comment is the key. If they represent it as fact and it isn't they can be done through IPSO. My complaint from the January article is still being batted back and forth.

Spread propaganda to try destroy ecigs as they are today while also distracting sheeple from whats going on around the World. Gotta love our free press
