Evening Everybody hope you're All well. Just to say that I have been vaping today 15 days and smoking very little now, about maximum 4 a day. Before was 40-50 per day. So I have been incredibly tense and agitated last few days, much more so than usual, and wondered if this was maybe the tobacco withdrawals kicking in from the fag addiction that wasn't get directly fed anymore or enough? Anybody get this the first 2 or 3 weeks of stopping cigarettes partly? So bad today lunch time I had to light up fags twice to try and slow the panic, but I think it just passed anyway. Probably a bit of the withdrawals and the body getting used to vaping? Thanks again, Cheers...

I'd say you've hit the nail on the head there. Perhaps consider getting a bottle of higher strength juice that you can swap in as and when you start feelings antsy?

You are just past the two week mark, where your body is in serious repair mode. Even though you are still taking in tobacco, your body is starting to repair itself and about 2 weeks in is when the major changes begin (this is scientifically proved from quitting smoking :) ) Your body is a great machine that notices change and sometimes it doesn't like those changes and will do things that you find uncomfortable which you will probably end up thinking, "Maybe I should have another cig to see if it helps?" (How many time have us "quitters" done that !!? ;) )

My suggestion? give up those final ciggies so that your body can go full speed at helping get rid of all those toxins and vape through these episodes (it will and DOES go away!)
BUT! Dont beat yourself up if a cig is the only way to get through it either!
It would also maybe benefit you to have a 36mg nicotine loaded and ready to vape when it gets too bad :)

Remember too. our subconscious minds have been ingrained with a habit we carried out repeatedly and methodically for years... I fully believe our subs try to get us back to that "familiar place" in order to maintain a sense of safeness human beings find in repetition and routine. Fight it and let vaping become that new routine :D

could also be that your in fact getting to much nicotine now.. i found that on a few occassions when i first starting vaping and was at home during the day i was overdoing it somewhat .
what level MG nic are using ? i would suggest to drop the cigs entirely and try some 24mg nic and you should hopefully find lal is good in a day or two

Totally true what you say KurlMeStoopid, familiarity, safeness, repetition and routine, can definitely hold a person back from taking the final steps. I shall try to hold out longer and not give in too easily when the panic strikes again next time. Funnily enough lighting another fag hardly helped anyway, it just died out gradually on its own. BTW this gingerbread eliquid from SmokShop is totally amazing!!!!

Two fantastic answers.
Once you get your vape intake right, and go any length without a stinkie, you won't go back.
They taste foul! It is the nicotine receptors that convince you otherwise.

By the way, you are doing fantastic for such a heavy smoker. Well done.

Most of the time I'm fine and okay, just a smallish panic here and there. I'm at the moment using 24mg Nic. Don't actually feel ANY need for tobacco last 15 days now as I'm getting enough through vaping.

+1 with what the lady says. Took me 5 weeks to let go of the last couple of smokes. Was (still am) vaping 18mg, with 24mg in another tank, just in case.

Don't give up giving up the stinkies, you are down to a few a day, the panic is subconscious and deep rooted from years of abuse to your body.
Try a few vapes and a few nice deep breaths, trust me, you are probably breathing more deeply than you have done for many years!
You have the support of everyone on here and probably all your family as well, if you get a bit grumpy and teasy i am sure those around you will understand.
If you need the odd analogue then so be it mate, Rome wasn't built in a day!

I'm in a similar position, though I smoked less (17-20 per day). I've been "proper" vaping since April and still smoke about 4-5 per day.

The fact that I can go without so many cigarettes tells me that those I still want are purely for the psychological dependence and nothing to do with needing the nicotine from them.

It's mostly those after meals and sometimes with a coffee that are the hardest to drop.

When I'm free to vape as & when I want, I find I don't think of fags - it's mostly being in work and not allowed to vape - then the craving builds to the point that I reach for the cigs. If I'm vaping enough for the craving not to get to that level, I don't give cigarettes a thought.

I have found that, when I leave for work in the morning, it's the vaping gear I don't forget to take with me, and I'm more often forgetting to take the fags out (that would very rarely happen before!). I did this today, and thought - OK, so I'll just have to rely on the e-cig - maybe I'll just stop today for good....
Then a member of staff who'd forgotten hers as well rang me from the shop to ask if I wanted her to pick some up, so I said yes!

Maybe another day
