What's new

It's here! Now what?

knarfarrgh did tomorrow ever come? After 25 years of smoking, I opened my The One Kit, charged and vaped. Never smoke another roll up since. I find it hard to believe anyone would smoke stinkies if they knew just how good vaping was! IF the government really wanted people to stop smoking, they would hand out vv starter kits to all smokers, it completely replaces your nicotine hit from traditional tobacco in to a lovely tasting vape.

@ infamous. I plan on trying no ciggies tomorrow. I found some awesome liquid and a good ratio. Feels like the real thing minus the nasty taste, pretty excited. That's great news about you stopping!

I hope it goes well for you tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

I think the main thing is, don't stress. Answer any craving with Overwhelming Nicotine. However strong it needs to be, vape the bejasus out of it. You won't come to any harm, and as with cigarettes, once you've had enough, you stop.

Don't even think about going low nic until you're safely clear of the cigs. That will happen faster than you imagine (for me, it was on day three, had a taste of tobacco smoke again, and that taste was enough to know I'd never smoke again). Once you reach the stage where you're getting *all* your nicotine from vaping, and you can say to yourself, actually, I think this juice is a bit too strong, then tweak it down a bit. Mixing your own juice is the best thing you can do in that regard. It's also waaaay cheaper.

I have been off the fags now for 65 days I haven't had a sneaky one yet and honestly don't feel the urge to.

I made a decision to stop and visited the local ecig shop. I got 2 ego non vv 1100 batteries, 4 iclear 16's, charger and pouch. It stung me £60 (my own fault for not doing research). Got a silver and gold eliquid and it was vile so I tried an apple flavour after that I haven't really looked back.

First few days I carried it with me constantly worried I'd get a mad craving which never really came. Then while getting a tattoo the fella mentioned he was trying the ecigs and had a red bull flavour. I started searching online for flavours and discovered here and also the larger world of VV & VW.

I'm feeling let down at the moment I guess best way to describe it "Vape Envy" watching videos and going but mine doesn't give off as much vape or listening to descriptions of how vapes feel warm etc mine just feel cool.

Anyway I think what really has helped me stick with it is the choice of flavours, yes I went nuts at first trying all sorts but I've settled on a few I like. Half the battle was not throwing it to one side after the disappointment of trying new flavours which taste nothing like I expected. HOWEVER !!! I have a Vamo on route and will revisit those flavours as I'm thinking my kit isn't really suited.

I'm feeling better tho the side effects of quitting (bleeding gums and spots) did freak me out a bit but I'm determined to stick with it.

Like chegs I was a regular 100g roller. I thought about quitting plenty of times but was convinced that I needed them to survive. Then on the 7th August I decided after 40 years it was time to quit (money & health). Having only enough tobacco to last the day I went to bed.... The morning was crap.... by lunch time we were off on holiday , this was worse. Driving though Boston I became very nauseous. I stopped for some petrol, on top of the pump was a special offer on a single use e-cig £2.99 equiv to 40 cigs. I had avoided them before thinking no way will this take the place of real smoking, but it did the trick. No way tasting as good as my fags yet satisfied my desire and reduced the sickness feeling instantly. By the time I got 100 miles the cig was empty. 40 cigs my arse.... I then brought two of the re-chargable cartridge types. Since then gone to Ego + CE4 plus numerous flavours. Now using CE5 during the day and Atomizer at night. I smoked Amber Leaf and tried a copy, it was ok but was missing something. A search for a juice that satisfied me every time was my quest (but its like a sweet shop), it took me 4 weeks. Since stopping fags I only tried it once, 2 weeks ago. It tasted like sh*t. I've gone from 24mg down to 10mg. I now vape a mix of 2 18mg juices, tastes like Werthers... Mmmmm

Was a 20 to 30 a day smoker for over 41 years, and never considered stopping. Then I decided that I was going to retire from work next year. When I sat down and did the sums, I realised just how much cigs were costing me - so much that I was paying more for them than I could realistically afford if I only had a pension, unless I planned on not eating or drinking. But how to break the habit?

The answer came at a business meeting when I was outside having a cig when a colleague joined me and vaped. He told me how little it cost him and I decided there and then to give it a go.

A week later, I ordered an evod and some juice. It arrived at 11:30 fifteen days ago. I filled it with juice and that was it. I stopped the fags immediately and haven't even wanted one since. Even allowing for buying the hardware and juices, I'm already over £150 better-off.

Niquitine lozenges to start with, topped off with vapourlites lookalikes kept me off the fags long enough to not want to go back on them. Lookalikes were too expensive when the lozenges ran out, so I got myself 2 egos, 3 clearos and 3 juices. Thought about it for over 6 months before I did try to stop. The date I chose meant on my birthday I would be 2wks off the fags - I'm approaching the 7 month mark now.

You may count the smokes you have, or count the ones you don't. Do whatever works for you, but in the beginning don't feel bad about having the odd one if you feel you need it. Pressure is only there if you put it on yourself - Good luck on your journey :)
