Britain’s Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt is making a bold move to force the reversal of a decision made in the European Parliament regarding the regulation of e-cigarettes, TrendingCentral.com has learned.


While as you might expect, Conservative MEPs supported the light-touch approach to regulation of the innovative products that many ex-smokers claim have been key to helping them quit, sources tell TrendingCenrtal.com that Hunt has been leading the charge to reverse the European Parliament’s decision to avoid classifying e-cigarettes as medicines.


Hunt recently took the unusual step of writing to all UK MEPs specifically directing them to regulate e-cigarettes as medicines.


Hunt wrote:


“The UK Government considers the revised Tobacco Products Directive to be crucial to more effective tobacco control across the EU… The UK Government supports the regulation of nicotine-containing products, including e-cigarettes, as medicines”


It’s a move that has some observers scratching their heads.

We all know it's coming as the government aren't getting their slice of the pie (or should I say the majority of the pie). If it's got nicotine in it, It'll be taxed heavily. We'll all be mixing our own when this happens and loads of the juice vendors will go out of business. How long does nicotine PG last in case I need to stock pile it?

couple of years if stored correctly then the nic starts to degrade at a rate of about 10% a year I think, or I'm just spouting shit I think I read somewhere
