After messing with both, it appears I prefer the subtank mini rba that comes with the sxk version, over the exocet.

Problem is it seems you cannot dry burn the coils, some have said you can remove the ring to reveal some threading, is this true? Don't want to try without confirmation, might break it.

I'm planning on buying an sxk insider in the future, but would love to be able to clean off my coils in the kanger rba, whilst I wait.

I think it fits into the subtank base like a coil & allows for dry burning/ohm checking. If I can find an old one I'll try it & let you know.

I've heard roughly the same, there's supposedly a metal ring to cover the rba threads, that once you remove can then be screwed into the subtank mini base (don't have). I did read on a YouTube comment that you can actually thread it onto a mod without the subtank base, I find that doubtful though.

It's too wide to fit in a 510 & I don't fancy dismantling one to find out :D

Took the plunge, removed the pin, no way to remove the thread covering on the sxk clone. So looking like there's no way to dry burn this...

Thanks for taking one for the team :)2 didn't think there was a way to remove the ring. Will keep searching.

The only complaints I have with the exocet vs the kanger rba, is that at 2.5mm, it seems difficult to get enough wick in. The airflow seems turbulent too.

I've only just now alleviated the wicking problem by not wetting the cotton. Snip roughly to size, fluff really well, chamber on, cut almost to the chamber, quick fluff, then put it in the tank dry. Seems to be working much better this way.

Not sure if the turbulent airflow is down to my coil position or not.

Try turning the cap a bit to reduce the wicking holes horizontally. Place the cap over the wicks like usual, trim, and then turn the cap to slightly on the deck to pinch the cotton a little.
