Ok I've had my kayfun a couple of days now and probably gone through a couple of tankfuls. Problem is every single cotton wick ive put in has ended up gurgling badly and either weeping or leaking from the airhole.

Im using quite high vg mixes (70-80%) and it sounds like im sucking an empty drink through a straw.

Anybody have any pointers for wicking a kfl with organic cotton? Ive found myself actually going back to my mini protank as I seem to have less hassle and better vapour from it.

The secret to kayfuns is getting the right amount of cotton and making sure the juice channels are clear....I still sometimes get a bit of leakage from the airhole, but find that if I lay it on it's side with the airhole uppermost after a while the cotton expands and the leakage stops.....one other thing might be that your losing vacuum, so check your o'rings as if there's no vacuum then you will certainly get leaks...

Loads of great you tube tutorials for this.

Tips:
Don't overfill, hold tank at 45 degrees, Fill slowly, and as soon as you fill to top section of the tank, stop. That leaves enough of an air pocket t allow the tank to vacume correctly.

Your cotton wick ends should just sit on the base, don't cover the channels and don't get them caught in the threads.

If you get some gurgle, gently blow through the drip tip, clean off any fluid that seeps out of the air hole. After 3/4 gentle pulls the gurgle should stop.

Cheers guys. I'll drain the tank and replace the o rings see if that helps. So far ive tried long wicks and short wicks and both give me the exact same issue.

I think if I don't get it sorted in the next few days i'll just give up on it.

Any Kayfun, any coil, any wick - Mount coil, have enough wick so that you can screw the chamber on with wick sticking up through the top, trim wick (whether that be silica, ekowool, cotton mujii, rayon or knicker elastic) to just above chamber height, gently poke the wicks down to the deck, assemble the rest of the Kayfun, fill, vape!
There really is nothing more to it than that and if you've put it all back together properly, it will work, 100% of the time.
Sorry for sounding pragmatic, it's just that I have had zero issues with a Kayfun from first use 10 months ago, until the present time and it's difficult for me to understand how anybody else can but I do sympathise with those that do.

Rather than blow through the driptip, I cover the airhole with a piece of folded kitchen towel and suck. This clears the airhole and the kitchen towel soaks up the liquid

I don't personally use RBAs anymore, but when I did use Kayfuns as Jugg1es does, when id filled up id cover the airhole and 'vape' my kayfun (without firing it) and never leaked :-P

O rings replaced, and ive now wicked it using the cheersm8 method, but it is still the same. No leaking or weeping yet but literally after the first few vapes it sounds and feels like im slurpinh through a straw.

Couple of things then MarcDJay - How are you filling it and has it been a problem right from when you first got it? (if it has, may be worth checking that the evaporation chamber has been machined correctly so the threading is actually allowing it to screw all the way down to meet the deck. Occasionally, a "duff clone" gets through with insufficient threading to screw all the way down. If this is happening, and you have luck on your side, trying the chamber the other way up often makes things right.

ps. I know that you have replaced the chimney/top cap o-ring but that "slurping through a straw" thing does point towards that o-ring being poorly seated.
