Then it has to be the wick for sure.

Maybe try mesh or cotton and see if it improves...

haha, now that was one of the best typos in my forum history!!

If its the kraken clone esp the one from fasttech take the centre post out and give it a good clean down the main body centre hole, on mine was covered in machine oil.
Changed all the screws too as I dont think on mine they were stainless steel.

In the end I just swapped out the centre post for something better.
