Lithium Polymer Batteries

Good morning my vertically and follically challenged gentleman.

The short answer to your question is yes and no. 1). There are one or two box mods that use the Li-Po architecture but they are virtually one-offs. 2). At present there is no reason why they wouldn't work but afaik, no manufacturer has designed the outer casing of a Li-Po to fit safely into and operate successfully, within a tubular vaping device. Also, what you should know is that vaping pushes the parameters of battery discharge rates which are crucial to the safe operation of any Lithium battery, whatever its format. It is not uncommon for a sub-ohm vaper to far exceed 5-6 amps which is often well in excess of the safe manufacturers recommended discharge rate of the 'average' vaping battery. We get away with it purely because we are 'pulse' users whereas RC flyers use a constant discharge rate. There is one hell of a lot to vaping batteries and their safe usage.

What I would advise Wee Baldy fella, is to give yourself 6 months vaping so you obtain a greater depth of vaping knowledge and also chance to really bone up on things battery for the wiki. Because anything you enter into the wiki should be a), ultra safe and b), verifiable should its authenticity be challenged.

How can I ensure I am charging my iTaste V3 at or under 0.8 amps over USB? I also sometimes plug it into the wall mains via a USB adapter.

It is an 800 mAh polymer Li-Ion rechargeable battery.

Size: 15*15*108mm
Operating Voltage: 3.3V-5.0V
Charging Time: 1.5 Hours

I want to keep it in good health!

As ebay said, both your wall charger and your usb charger should clearly state their constant current charge which should be around 0.3A. Any charger that doesn't state their CC rate should not be used. As for ensuring or determining whether or not it is charging below the 0.8A you will need expensive testing equipment. Or else do what everyone else does and trust in the IC board built into the chargers. Just a couple of tips if I may. 1). Try to avoid using your laptop/tower or hub to charge and 2). Avoid vaping whilst charging and 3). Don't leave the unit charging unattended.

I know that many do but from my research most rooms that have been wrecked and most houses that have been ruined have been caused by an explosion/fire at the charging point.

I could be wrong but when your holding a mobile phone to your head while its plugged in charging doesnt that have a lipo in it ?

my mobile uses a Li-ion the same as the batteries I use for vaping with my innokin svd

@WeeBaldMan yikes, that looked scarey. exactly what was done to that battery to cause the explosion and how did you know it was going to happen?

happy new year!
