What's new

Looking at a new Mod and have a question.

The condition that you are acquiring is commonly known as Shinyitus. It can be caught very easily and is extremely difficult to get rid of :18:

The non DNA Thelema Solo 100w mod has a quest chip.

Currently I am using my Mod on 60W. When I switched to TWC (I can't actually find what that is short for, the instructions aren't very... instructional) it said my Mod was set to 200°C (this was the default setting so i didnt think it would cause any harm to the coil) and it burned the coil out with a 1.2 second burn. This wasn't a new coil but it also wasn't old and I had done a decent thermal cycle as described by hack400 to me in my introduction thread.
This was a Freemax FL3 904L X1 Mesh Coil 0.15ohm that burned out. Such a flavourful coil too, quite a bit better than the 0.2ohm that also came with the Fireluke 3 metal tank.

What are the other advantages of DNA mods other than being able to customise the screen information? I watched a video about the setup of the Thelma 100C by Vaping101 but it didn't provide any information about what DNA mods do best or better than non DNA mods.

@Astral I will take your advice and look at the an LV quest Mod. Is the non DNA Lost Vape Thelma included in this category?

I might be developing a problem with vaping products, I can't stop looking at new ones :sinister:

Hi @MarrtyG-H, yes there's a Thelema Quest Solo and a Quest Dual, so the choice is yours as to your needs.

I personally have a Grus Quest and love it.

I also previously had an Ursa Quest Multi Kit - which I stupidly let go - and that had the same chipset and was also excellent. At the time it just didn't suit my style, but I won't be making that mistake again!

The NON-Dnas r great for shinyitus. If i bought a dna everytime i wanted a new mod id be so f'ing broke.

(Its something i carry around with me all day, so i like having different ones, even if there is no value to anyone else in them, and even if they cost me the price of a few packs of smokes each)

I have 6 DNA Mods and none of them in my Rotation and when they are in use it's only for Wattage Mode. Personally i do like DNA Mods even though i don't vape TC, but that's just me, bit more expensive but actually usually worth the extra.

im so sorry to hear this. it souds like youve picked up the terminal disease which is very contagious which is shinyitis :D
welcome to our world :)

i have no idea what the W stands for but im guessing Temperature W? Control.

i will let someone else explain the main purpous of TC as tbh i have no clue.

edit
the only bit i know is as John mentioned above,
Ti is titanium for TC use only
Ni is nickel for TC use only
SS is stainless steel which can be used in both wattage and TC mode.
I've been suffering from this for years then, Warhammer models, most things with shiny red paint (if I could afford it; I'd love a deep candy apple red 1970 Dodge Charger R/T but they're not exactly practical for British roads... and I'm too poor haha) and things with L.E.D. lighting. Still, at least it's not a harmful addiction I suppose :D until my wife notices what I spend :17:

Its a lot better than collecting hummel figurines or a lot of things even, and i use them, dont just put them in a display case to look at

Well, I placed my order for the Lost Vape Thelema.
Seems I made the mistake (although I'm not disappointed by it) of ordering the DNA version anyway. I had placed both devices in the basket and turns out I removed the wrong one. Because I paid with Klarna I didn't notice until I looked at the email I got yesterday with shipping details :18:

Looks like I'll be teaching myself how to use it
I also ordered a Hellvape Fat Rabbit solo RTA tank to go on it so I'll also be teaching myself about that. Sink or swim, should be fun.

That's a very good point. I used to collect merchandise from computer games I played, I have a lot of figures in my loft but I decided that Warhammer 40K models would be more useful as they will do more than simply sitting on a shelf. Now I'll be collecting vape associated stuff as well. Good job I have an understanding wife
