What's new

Looking at a new Mod and have a question.

A couple of beauty shots of the new mod and RTA.
The quality difference between this mod and my Freemax are marked, the Lost Vape feels so much nicer in the hand and the buttons feel much higher quality.

I got out of bed at 02:00 because I couldn't sleep so decided to set the Fat Rabbit up and it went well, it's working nicely. Now I've got to set the Mod up which I think might take more time but I'm going to get a laptop out today and play around with it.

Don't forget to save your default settings (as it came) in case you make any mistakes or mess something up when playing with it,

I created a folder for each of my DNA Mods and keep profiles etc in them, makes things easier to find and they don't take up a lot of space.

Legend! Thank you for reminding me to do this because I would have forgotten.

Would those files be within the escribe program or should I copy the settings from the program and save them to a word document or something similar to that?

Open up eScribe. Plug in the mod. It will download the settings from the mod into eScribe. Click save, and save to a location of your choice. Name it appropriately so you know it's the Factory Settings for the mod.

I have quite a few DNA mods, so I structure folders for each mod, but that's getting into details...

Do the same for the Theme. Click the Theme tab, then Theme Designer, and from Theme Designer click Save and save to the same location.

Nice one, thanks hack400, you're a star mate.
I haven't actually played around with the escribe software yet, I'm going to need to use my sons laptop to do it (my gaming PC died a couple of months ago and I can't be bothered spending the £900 it'll cost to fix it, better things to spend it on like vaping stuff hahaha) and he said it's fine for me to use but he's got a pin code set on it, it's his birthday... and I'm too ashamed to tell him I can't remember whether he was born on the 27th, 28th, or 29th of January. I'll drop it in casual conversation with my wife tomorrow, she knows how terrible my memory is for birthdays (I forget my own sometimes) and won't feel hurt like my son might.

As you're a DNA user can you explain the preheat and punch settings to me please? What is their purpose?

Edit* Also, when I do mess around with the settings in escribe, would you advise removing the RTA from the Mod while I do it or is it safe to leave it on?

I wish there was a way to use escribe on my Android tablet. I've found a very basic app called DNAmate but it lacks a lot of features I saw in a tutorial video I watched.

Two places to save the defaults, setup and theme, here...

One file should be*.ecig the other *.ecigtheme

If in a Power mode (watts) setting, then Boost Punch bumps up the watts for the number of seconds you set the punch to.
If in Temp Control mode, then you have a Pre-heat Watt boost (it fires at those watts) until the target temp is neared. You can also change it to boost temperature. I just leave them as default, tbh.

The Evolv Forums are a good place for info, and themes. Found the following discussion about the boost settings.

Nice one, thank you :2thumbsup:

I was bored last night so changed the cotton in my RTA. I had no idea how much cotton would effect flavour! Is it because different cottons have different absorption rates?

Originally I used the cotton that came with the Fat Rabbit but I changed to Puff organic cotton (as recommended to me by @Reggiec cheers mate) and everything seems to have improved, flavour, vapour (although my wife isn't best pleased by that) and probably other things I can't quantify.

Is it normal for the coil/fluid to crackle after I stop pressing the fire button?
