Mech mod idea...

So will try and find a way to post them up.

Upload via "Go Advanced" then add as "Attachment" not upload pictures.

I just saw you'd posted the link to that sites copper rods, but their smallest diameter is 10 mm which is way too thick for replacing the central pin on an Ego/510 adaptor. As I said,I'll wait until I get a mech mod to play with before I decide to hunt a LOCAL (as in,within the town) supply of copper rod. This town is dying so quickly though, chances are high that I'll need buy it online,or visit the motor factors just up the road & buy a length of copper brake-pipe(tubular,very small OD & easily worked with barely any fecking tools as daughter/daughters friends have been in my shed & nothing is where its supposed to be,though its box is still there)

Been thinking about doing all of this myself on the way home.

I am able to make a 3D model and CAD drawings on SolidWorks if you'd like me to help you with this? You can also export my model straight to a CNC if you know someone who's got the right gear?

I might know someone who CNCs billet aluminum as well, been a long time since I've seen him mind!

Wont be for a while yet... Need to wait until I'm working more hours so I can afford the raw materials, and the use of the machinery...
So annoyingly, no idea of a time frame, but I know ROUGHLY what material I need :P

No worries, I can start drawing something up though if you want? It's something I'd like to do for myself aswell but seeing as I'm only using evods at the min I have nothing to take dimensions from. If you could give me some dimensions then I can start modelling something up?

Since I'm doing the square root of fuck all tomorrow, I'll start doing some dimensioning and rough sketches tomorrow :)
What is it you do job wise? Not many people know how to use solid works, so probably engineering/design? ;)

(Also, you lucky bugger having SolidWorks! I can't run it on my laptop... God I miss that program!)

BUT
Basic tube dimensions (Apart from length as I need to work out the switch and top cap dimensions...

19mm internal di
22mm external d
20x1 threading on both button, and top cap. (Around 4/5mm deep)
0.5mm deep ribbing 10mm from both top and bottom, say, 5 ribs each with a gap of 2mm between them, and 0.2mm height?

Will try and remember to do some rough designs tomorrow :)

Yea I used to be a design engineer for a fire equipment company, couldn't live without a copy of solidworks after I left! My laptop runs it a treat!
