Mech mods battery life

0.7 ohms is to low for an 18350 batt,i have the AW18350s that are rated at 6amps if i do a coil at 0.8 ohms its pulling about 5.8 amps thats about the limit, and i think 6amp is the highest rated 18350 on sale atm.but still 5 mins is just wrong so something else is not right.

Hi guys

So finally got my rsst working a treat but now my hammer mod in 18350 mode dies within 5 mins at 0.7ohms

Is this normal? Or am I doing something wrong?

What brand battery is it? Did you get it from a reliable vendor? Are you able to check the voltage when you say it's "dead" and can you report that back to us?

I also agree .7Ω is sort of pushing it a bit for an 18350.

This sounds very suspicious, please be careful... if the battery is not holding a charge it can be very susceptible to thermal runaway during the charging process.

I don't know much about batteries but when i was reading 'torchys blog' there was a mention about trustfire or anything with the word fire in it not being any good. He also says that their chargers are alright. Just thought i'd mention.

Sounds to me like the battery is shot. I have two Grey 18350`s that came with my Vamo a few monthgs back, never used them and I would not even contemlate using them in a mech.

They are brand new. The grey ones that come with the vamo are ok.

So any recommendations for 18350 batteries to use in mechs?

My batts are ultrafire trustfire and the grey vamo ones

My trustfire charger is good so assumed the batts would be

Moral. . . . . Never assume

I'd go for safer chemistry batteries (IMR) rather than protected.
