Nice thread :2thumbsup:
Would it be best to make threads like this for members only
As we wouldn't want any dodgy vendors nicking recipes.

No

If dodgy vendors wanted to steal recipes, they would just join.

If mixers want their recopies to be secret then they do not post them.

Mixers have been sharing recipes for years. That is a good thing.

I tend to use FA fresh cream and FA whipped cream in equal amounts these days.... works for me, sometimes adding in Vienna cream and Catalan cream both also FA...depending on my mood.
I had high hopes for Catalan Cream but I get a strange spicy note from it. I haven’t tried to work it into a recipe yet but that spice would need to be accommodated somehow. Maybe a cinnamon and cream donut or some other pastry.

Don't worry I've thought of that already.... I'm going to be interspersing intentionally vile recipes along the way to throw them off.

I think I've had all of those, or most.... FA fresh cream was the worst for me.

I guess I just can't get used to inhaling the flavour, it reminds me of a time a mate made me laugh at school and milkshake came out of my nose crossed with drinking milk that's been left in the sun to go off a bit. :S

I agree. I think it would be really good if the mixing community on these boards shared and collaborated a bit more, or at least, with a bit more vigour/frequency. We’d all end up with better juices as a result and maybe a few members will take up mixing for the first time. If the odd vendor reads threads like this and gets an idea they otherwise wouldn’t have, maybe that’s a price worth paying for that outcome?

agreed, I don't even care if someone did use mine..

I googled some scone recipes a while back and while I didn't profit from those recipes myself. There's nothing to stop my local cafe googling the same recipes and using them to make scones to sell on a saturday morning with cups of tea.

We are just mixing flavourings, it's not a big deal to me. The more people share the better imo.

Threads have popped up here every now and then, somehow lose traction. Mixing has been a pasttime that I delve into with enthusiasm for a while and then lose interest ... with either a couple of new recipes or none at all. One thing though, we all seem to learn something along the way.

I don't buy juice, from any supplier, there's no price worth paying to them :) If they can make a buck, good luck to 'em.

Edit - just checked my records and the last time I actually bought juice was a special offer from Manabush for shortfills in July 2019. Sadly, C.Sun didn't taste like I remembered, more likely that my palate had moved on. Manabush is probably best left to the MTL brigade. The previous order to that was in June 2016.

Or a coffee;)

I hadn’t considered that as it comes across more like a custard than a straight cream but you might be on to something, good shout. I need to close out some of my open coffee recipes first before I dive into that one though!

I get that nasty aftertaste from Catalan cream as well. I wonder if its related to the pepper taste from most Vanilla bean ice cream flavours, the only one of those I can stomach is Liquid Barns.
