I've just transitioned from smoking to vaping about a month or so ago (after already failing once a few years ago), and I've helped some of my friends do the same. From my experience the most important things from a smoker looking to transition are...
- A tight draw. Most vapes labelled as tight MTL are actually not as tight as a cigarette, so don't feel as satisfying.
- Auto draw. Having to press a button doesn't feel like smoking. With auto draw you just take a puff and the vape automatically fires up.
- Needs to be small, light, and feel like a cigarette. When I first tried vaping I used a larger vape and it just didn't feel right.
With that in mind I would recommend these following three:
1. Aspire Vilter
2. Uwell Popreel
3. Vaporesso Xros Mini
I've had all three for about a month now and they've all been great. The Vilter and Popreel are the significantly lighter and smaller than the Xros Mini, but the mini has twice the battery size. All of them produce a nice tight vape. The Vilter is quite special because you can get filters (like cigarette filters) for it (it comes with a few in the box) and it makes it feel much more like a cigarette compared to the others.
If you find your mother isn't getting along with the Doric 60, I would 100% recommend the Aspire Vilter. As you mentioned you needed something with a long battery life, I think getting a few small vapes is better than one massive vape. You could get two or three Aspire Vilters in different colours and just charge one while you're using another. I often carry around both my Vilter and Popreel together while I'm out. Together that's 4ml of e-liquid and 1000mAh. One in each pocket, it's barely noticeable.
