What's new

Need a bit of help if possible....

It seems that the switch is jammed in the "on" position. It is not advisable to charge it, you could damage the USB unit you are using.

Arctic_Wolf, no luck my friend. Had to bin the battery and buy a new one in the end. Oh well. Thanks for all the help though guys, much appreciated. :thankssign:

Triumph, yeah i did try the 10-click, and the 20-click and the 30-click etc etc etc lol, (losing my patience with it doesn't seem to work ;)). Arctic_Wolf, i've watched loads of videos on YouTube etc on how to rewick and recoil, the main problem being the size of my fingers. I seem to remember someone put a video on here of a guy doing a coil by wrapping the wire around a bolt or screw, now that seemed like something i could do until i realised that the size of the screw i'd need to make a small enough coil would still make it difficult for me. I might get a kanger and see how that goes, just trial and error at the moment. Thanks again guys.

Ahhh, but did you try the 50 click??! :grin2: sounds like your battery is toast, don`t think I`d feel comfortable with a battery possibly permanently discharging in my pocket!!

A good method which works for me for recoiling is to wrap the coil around a small jewellers type screwdriver (you can get a pack of 6 assorted in poundland etc), then put some tin foil over the end of the wick, rolling it into a sort of needle shape, wet the wick to stop it snagging, take the coil off the screwdriver then thread the foil & wick through the coil, remove the foil and you`re good to go. It really does work a treat, I find it much easier than trying to wrap the coil directly onto the wick as the parts are so small and fiddly.

Triumph, now i never thought of the 50-click method, maybe i should have given that a go. Oh well, the dustbin man can have a go if he wants ;). As for the jeweller's screwdriver method for making the coil, that does sound extremely promising actually. I've still got a fair bit of wick and wire left so i might give that a go later. Thanks for that Triumph.

Indeed, using a screw or bolt to stabilise your wick as you coil would be too big. Try using an unfolded paperclip or safety pins, or even just a sewing needle or craft pins.

I attempted my 1st tries at recoiling my MT3 heads the other day and even that was a bloody fiddly affair, so I dread to think how fiddly it would be to rewick the CE5 type heads lol. I was comparing notes with @izzy11 who thankfully provided links to a brilliant YouTube tutorial, but my 1st tries were a bit of a mess lol. It did actually vape, but it tasted off and a little burnt. DOH!! :banghead:

Trying to see .17 wire to wrap around a 2mm wick didn't help either, I've had to order a hands free magnifier to actually see what I'm doing properly too lol. I gained some good insight from the experience though, so hopefully future attempts will go a little better.

EDIT: I've just read @Triumph 's reply regarding his method of coiling (I missed it when replying). His method certainly sounds like a good idea as well, so will add that to my armoury of how to attack building new wicks and coils :). Cheers Triumph mate.

:update Arctic_Wolf & Triumph. I've just ordered myself a kanger mt3 so hopefully once that's arrived things may be a little bit easier re. the recoiling and rewicking, but either way i'm hoping it's gonna be a step in the right direction ;)

Ah OK, I havent got a MT3, so don`t know what they`re like or recoiling them, meant to be pretty straight forward though (famous last words!?)
hopefully it`ll work out better for you.
I was stuck on clearos, but the tight draw on some I have was giving me headaches, so I`m onto the EVOD now which seems pretty good.

Triumph, well it was a bit of a toss-up between the evod or the mt3, i wasn't sure which one to go for and to be honest they looked pretty similar to me, :newhere:. Well we shall see when the postman delivers my shiny new gadget. Is this considered to be my first "mod"?
