As above, superb stuff. [emoji106] Impressive work - but that doesn't even begin to cover it... [emoji15]

I apologise for being so slow in messaging you...

I had thought about making my own out of leather, had even sourced some from flea bay.

But now looking at your tools and setup etc, and what skills go into it, bollocks.

I'd rather pay £30 for someone else to do it, who have the necessary skills and talent to make it look good!

ok Saturday night

after a long and tiresome day i am doing a bit more work on projects

on the dvd tonight is Stanley Kubrick's "eyes wide shut" a crazy film but alas his last

ok we have a piece of natural veg died tan leather this is a split hide so in effect the skin is split in the middle to make 2 hides its 3-4 mm thick. leather is not a cheap thing so cutting to size is a must.

now I could say its Italian leather made by a monastery in small batches so rare are their leathers that they are only released once a week the main customer is major phone company in the USA ......in real world terms it's bolocks but to keep the word alive brother Malcolm made this last tuesday.

hey presto you now will have the moulded part of the case most people clamp it tight and pop the thing in a warm oven to dry out...me, well my wife is not keen on wood, leather and g clamps going in the hotpoint so, I screw the wood together firm and let it dry oh natural .....

leave for a day or so to dry then onwards.............

I have had a few messages about how people would love to have the talent to such amazing things well yes i could say i am amazing but no I'm not, anyone can do this all it takes is to have a final image in your mind......eh what??

ok let me tell you a story...

I met a man a long time ago , he was a nice American chap who fought in the Vietnam war and got captured by the Viet-Cong apart from getting tortured beaten etc he spent days weeks months in solitary confinement blindfolded and tied up. to keep himself sane he designed in his mind his own dream house. Then after he did that he thought sod it, he would build it in real time so he thought it would take him 6 days to dig the foundations he spent six days in his mind digging the aforementioned foundations. The house took him 6 Months to build all in his mind. When he gained freedom he went home and built the dream house for real..... in 5 months :)

so if you can think of the finished article you are half way there.....

some days I'm spot on like everything goes perfect bang bang bang bang done other days I just know its going to be bad . I was working in a cellar a few weeks ago at a regular customer sorting out racking for his wine collection, I moved a large rack to screw it tight against the wall whilst my son watched...... 10 bottles of wine drop on the floor non of which broke...until the last...shit £400 quid bang smash.... then later in the day I dropped a can of paint down the steps (the owner was fine about it all, in the end thank god)

today im 60% just thought i would share :17:
