Hi guys,
Just received my iGo W dripper today, got from a swap with amos.
Love the look of it, looks great.
Popped the cap off and found 3 posts with holes to thread the wire which has made life easier although I expected the deck to be slightly bigger.
This is my first rebuildable, so I sit down with the deck, my kanthal, my 3mm ekowool, a ph00 phillips screwdriver, a lighter and a set of pliers.
I decided as this is my first ever attempt to make a single coil for simplicity.
So I cut a length of Ekowool and a length of Kanthal.
Used the pliers to hold the kanthal and torched it with a high pressure flame.
Wrapped the kanthal around the wool, made 5 evenly spaced coils.
Threaded into the posts, screwed down and checked the resistance, 2.5 ohms.
So I fired the coil and it gave a nice even red glow, so far so good.
Now came to tucking the wick in, I can honestly say 3mm Ekowool is a nightmare for this its so thick.
After snipping the ends and lots of tucking, I put the cap on.
5 drips of juice, put the drip tip on and took a toke and worked pretty well, so proud of myself thus far.
The draw is pretty tight but I think this is a common issue with the iGo W as the air holes are so small.
Will drill them out later to 1.2mm and see what difference it makes.
A few questions to all you rebuildable gurus:
· What thickness of Ekowool would you recommend? 3mm just seemed too thick but I guess it worked!
· The Kanthal I used was AWG 32, 0.2mm wire, is this recommended
· How do I get a lower resistance, I would assume less coils?
Anything else I should know about RDAs that I have overlooked?
Thanks guys…
