why not just straighten that one? just use something that fits down the middle. drill bit, wee screwdriver etc. you just want to make sure they are all spaced and none of them are touching, and get it a bit straighter.

I can sort it while new one is in. I've just rebuilt it again and it's doing the same spitting again.

If you twist one end of the cotton one way and the other end of the cotton the other way you will be able to feed a thicker strip of cotton through the coil.

Going back to your first picture it all looked okay.
Get the cotton tightness in the coil right and you'll be on the money.

I rammed a huge wod through which barely went through but it but. I think that's solved the problem. I didn't think you needed that much?

Nope back to the spitting. I'm lost tbh.

It's better in some ways though. The gurgling has gone. Just the first spit from cold.
