So I recently started smoking again (just last week) due to various life stressors, I almost immediately felt addicted again in fact even stronger and was back smoking the same levels as before I quit so I yesterday purchased an e cig, have I done the right thing? I've found that I've felt an improvement in my mental health since restarting smoking and therefore don't want to quit so I thought an e cig would be healthier as I have a child? Thanks

Hi and welcome. Yeah, go for it. Let us know how you get on.

Hi and welcome to the planet.

all it takes is one cig and your hooked again especially at the begining.
so yes you have done the right thing especially when you have a kid around the house.
instead of always smelling like an ashtray you will have sweet odours of strawb, melon or whatever you are vaping. and the most important thing is its 95% safer than smoking and its been proved there is no risk of second hand vape.

there is so much kit out there now and quite a few are advertised as starter kits but they actually arent.
a few questions first.
how many cigs did you smaoke and for how many years and what brand. this will help us advise what nicotine strength you will need.
there are two main styles of vaping. mouth to lung just like smoking and direct to lung to blow massive clouds.
to give up i personally say mouth to lung is best. low wattage with high 12 or 18mg nicotine.
it will take 2-3 weeks to detox all the shite out of your lungs and the higher nic will help ween you off the cigs.
direct to lung is used at much higher wattage average 50-100watts but some tanks and coils can go upto 200watts. this is best with low nicotine like 3mg or a max 6mg. anything more and you will be coughing your guts up.

I think that is is better to make slow changes and small manageable commitments.
If you set the bar too high you are more prone to failure and once you do you will feel guilt and that since you already failed what does it matter.
If you make very small commitments ie. I will not smoke and only vape in the first hour each morning. If you smoke after that it isn't a failure.
You can gradually increase the time without a high risk of failure and guilt.

This is based on research on forming new habits.

So I smoked for 8 years on and off, quit as soon as I got pregnant and then unfortunately started again after four years after a lot of trauma and bereavement in the family, I needed an outlet and unfortunately that was my go to, I haven't been smoking a lot a pack every 3 days, I don't smoke around my child, I was given 6mg nicotine with a endura t18?
