hi and 
to the planet a good place to learn about coil making is youtube i myself normal do 4 to 6 wraps on my coils depending on what wire i use get yourself a ohm meter so you can check your ohms and just make sure that your coils wraps dont go over the air hole slots on your deck fi you are still worried can allways get ready made coils untill you feel you are ready to build your own thats i started hope this helps you out a bit 
and never give up and dont worry about mistakes we all do it ive been making my coils for about 2 years now and i still make mistakes from time to time all the best mate and stick with it.........
