Newbie - want to quit smoking

Hi, this is my first post, thanks in advance for any help.
I smoke about 10 a day and want to stop. I have an Aspire Pockex which came with 0.6 and 1.2ohm coils. I’ve been using it fine with freebase 6mg 50/50 juice, and I smoke it fine with the 0.6ohm coil, but find it isn’t quite satisfying my nicotine craving. I’ve tried 12mg juice and it is harsh on my throat. Today I’ve been reading about nicotine salts, mainly as they’re known to be less harsh with a higher mg. I’ve bought some 10mg nic salts juice, and am not too sure which coil to use, are they going to be okay with the Pockex?

Can't see any reason why the nic salts wouldn't work with either coil. I think most nic salts are 50/50. Hi and welcome btw.

Hello @Hayley013 and welcome to POTV. Well done for wanting to stop smoking, it's the right choice I don't personally use nic salts, but I am sure your Pockex will be just fine with nic salts. Good luck with quitting!

youve come to the right place and no question is a silly question when it comes to vape so never be affraid to ask as much as you need to know.

Nic salts are much smoother on the throat and are best in lower wattage kits. the average coils used are high ohm 1.8, 1.6, 1.5, 1.2 depending on kit. ive not used your kit but the 1.2ohm coil you have would be best.
ive only ever tried a few salts but they gave me a head rush as im used to chugging away 30-50ml a day.

good luck on kicking the cigs. stick around and join in the fun as it certainly helped me when i gave up the cancer sticks.

Thanks for these replies, I’ve not really any idea what I’m doing but am reading lots of posts on this site which is amazing. I’m sick of smoking, it’s sickly and stinks. Hopefully I can find a balance on the nicotine hit and I won’t look back

I didn’t really know which vape to buy so went for the starter kit, I find I use it DTL but am then reading that it would be a massive nicotine hit to smoke salts DTL. I feel like a 6mg freebase juice isn’t enough and 12mg too much on my throat

There’s an extremely busy vape shop right near me with so much choice I just grabbed a kit and selection of juices and left haha

forgot to mention. drink plenty of water as you will dehydrate.
also with nic salts if you get a headache or feel sick then just stop for 30-60 minutes as youve taken too much nicotine on board. its nothing to worry about but just your body telling you to slow down.

quite a lot of vendors do 9mg nic as well so that might suit you better but give the nic salts ago first.

Would I dehydrate generally vaping or more so with the salts? I wouldn’t be vaping all the time, I’ve got kids and tend to nip outside for a smoke so would vape the same, which is what made me think the salts would be more suitable for, am I on the right track with that?

i think you are. me on the other hand ive got a kit in my hand as soon as i wake up til i crash out at night. i started on 18mg 7 years ago but cut down to 3mg withing 6 weeks and have stuck there ever since.
if your going out now and again just like you would for a cig break then just a few sips of water im guessing would be enough.
